No not managed to weigh them yet they are far too skittish for that! Never knew babies could move so quick had a near few panic attacks, especially when the black one who had hardly moved since birth decided to run fell pelt up and out of the cage, luckily it ran straight into my hand, although mate who was there at the time had to calm me down as I was hyperventilating, god knows how i would have found them if they ever got out!

Aww they are gorgeous and they do look a really good size. I remember how fast babies are - it's frightening how fast and wriggly they are!

Tias poos look alot better still slightly soft but no way as bad as they were. But finally she is started to relaxing she is not soo jumpy now and she even takes food out of my hand either when i am handing it to her while she is in the cage or for the first time today in my lap.

You have got to laugh, i know it did probably look nice but i just saw the funniest scene.
Well to start i put some plastic over an opening over the tv cabinet so they could not get underneath it. Well forgetting i removed it they soon discovered it and went underneath the cabinet. As soon as they both came out i put the plastic back. Then 10 mins later charlie decides she wants to go bk under and obviously not looking where she is going she just ran full pelt into it, Luckily its softa plastic so did not hurt her and she running around again, Just thought i would share wish i had been recording it.

Just a little up date on the piggies, they seem so happy and even tia is back out and eating well again her poos are getting better still keeping the veg lol. The babies are always popcorning, worked out that the white on is a girl not sure about the black one yet as it is too dark to see lol, so think i will have to get a vet to find out. Still not named them as not sure if we are keeping them yet, cant bare to let them go but I have no choice as dont have the room.
Update: Just managed to check the black one and he is definately a boy, now the thought of getting rid of only one of them kills me and I dont think I can do it. We have one huge cage which is big enough for four and can keep the boy in the small one, they only problem is that he will be on his own. I am thinking about getting him nuetered as I dont want any more piggies. Is it worth the risk??

Good idea, but he needs to be about 4 months old and off a certain weight. Then it's another 4-5 weeks after, for the plumbing to clear the fishies.

I def think its worth the risk!
I would have gotten my boys neutered so I could keep them but I cant afford it, it would have been nearly $1000 from my vet for both of them. I think the vet services are really over priced in California. Also, I cant keep 4 because I travel down to my parents house and it would be too much additional work and babies to take care of.
It is EXTRMELY hard thinking I will be handing my boys over tomorrow. Last night I was watching them, LJ was popcorning all about the cage. It breaks my heart into peices. If you can afford to keep the boy, then keep him!!!

I have made the hardest decision, I am keeping the little girl but the little boy is going to, nice home, My friend is an animal lover and already has a boy guinea pig just under a year old and would like company for him. I am happy knowing he will have company and will make sure she does all the introductions correctly, if it does not work out there I will have him back and then get him neutered here it only cost up to £60 so about $120. I know she will look after him and she will keep me updated, unfortunately she lives 1hr 30mins away so wont be able to see him much at all. Its breaking my heart but i know it will make her guinea pig happy and he will be happy with company. It will leave me with 4 piggies. I cant really have 5 I just dont have the room for a bigger cage and it would not be fair on them. Least this way tia has a piggie she gets on with and so will the little boy xxx

I think thats a good decision. Its sad to let him go but at least it is to someone you know and trust! This isnt the one who has the filthy piggie cage is it no, thats a good choice, you know this person and trust them. Since shes your pal you know she will keep you posted on how he is doing. He will have a friend and wont be alone. And like you said, if it doesnt work out, youll get him back. I would rather give my boys to a friend who loves animals than the shelter but I dont have any friends who would want the piggies I am just grateful I dont have to search the internet to find some random person to take them in, at least the shelter/rescue is able to take them. You have a great situation presented to you - take it and be happy its your friend

I agree. Not only does your little gguy get a nice home, but the other one gets a friend. I do hope it works between them, so your friend can have two happy guinea guys.
It may be a bit of a trip, but you two can exchange pigtures, and when you do get to see him, you can be the proud grandma, lol.

No definately not the one with a filthy piggie cage went around there today and she had not done it so actually had a moan at her, because they are outdoor piggies they should be used to it so thinking of taking them off her and housing them outside where I do have the room. She has offered me the hutch just involves another two mouths to feed, either that or I agree to go up there on a weekly basis and clean the cage out for her

Tell her youll clean the cage for like 10 dollars (or your equivalent) a week ..... she shouldnt expect you to do it for free ... i know you would because you are a caring person and want them in a clean cage but i dont know, just frustrating.
