Update: Jackson does have it on both ears, and a friend of mine has guinea pigs. One of hers also has it, so i'm not too worried anymore. They are loving the sunny weather, in the garden lying in the shade, they love it! I've made them a treat today, because its been so hot here in the UK! I chopped up some apple and pepper very very small, and squished it all into a ginger bread man cut out for cakes. I added water and i've put it into the freezer. Ta-daa! A nice refreshing cool treat for later.

Haha they loved it! Brillo keeps pushing his nose against my face. He seems happy to do it, it doesnt seem aggressive, and when I put him back on the ground 8/10 he popcorns afterwards. Its quite sweet, but i'm not sure what hes trying to tell me. haha

Hello everyone, this week has been lovely weather here in the UK, so the boys have enjoyed playtime on the grass alot this week. Jacksons bald patches are looking alot better, more normal now. However theres been a noise he has been making I find very strange... I noticed he did it once, but didnt think anything of it because it seemed to be a one off. The noise is very very hard to explain, its sounds as if its a squeaky cough? My mum thought it was a sneeze, but it was definatly from his mouth I think. He opens his mouth wide and it is really like, well, a cough. But very squeaky. Hes eating, drinking, playing fine. Its just this cough he does now and again. Its so loud aswell! But afterwards he just carries on as normal. Its so bizzare and made me jump the first time I heard it. My mum keeps telling me not to worry, and that i'm over reacting. Maybe I am. But I still would rather be safe than sorry...

I would take him to a vet to have his lungs and sinuses checked, just to be sure. If the vet finds nothing, than it can be so many other things. Based just on your description, I can't place it as anything I've experienced with a pig. They do get allergies just as we do, and it's pollen time and he's been outside a lot. Just better to have a vet check and make sure it's nothing.
Things to check. Weight/daily at the same time, i.e. late afternoon, early morning. Poops: have size, color or consistency changed. Activity: Is he acting less interested in life or just as he always did.
A vet will want to know all those things. Good luck. I hope it's nothing.

Yeah, I'll arrange an appointment at the vets asap. Maybe it is the pollen, because in the colder months he never did it. This is the first summer i've had my piggies. So I wouldnt have known about any allergies before now. He doesnt seem fine in himself though, he still loves to cuddle on my shoulder and isn't too slow at stealing veggies from my hand!

I agree - better have him checked to make sure that he hasn't got any problems if that cough persists. We have had no rain to clear the air of a long time now and have had smog alarm here in Britain in some areas.

There are OTC treatments for allergies, as long as the vet gives him an otherwise clean bill of health. Let us know what the vet says, and good luck!!!

Thanks, I got Jackson in last night. Turns out he does just have allergies. She couldn't find anything else wrong with him. I've just been advised to keep an eye on him, and bring him indoors when pollen counts are set to be high. I'm feeling alot better now, and I think he is too! He was very keen to grap some apple from me this morning, The weather is cooling down now, which usually means pollen counts will be lower. Since the weather has cooled down, he hasnt coughed at all. I'll get some more pictures up soon! I've only just noticed I dont put many up.
