lol...faafaa, you crack me up. Bean, I was wondering that myself and I did find owl prints which reminds me of the letter carrying owls in the books. So now I'm on a hunt for a good owl print. Lightning is a good one to look for. I like that idea. Thanks. Spiders, hmmm....well, I'll have to look to see if any appeal to me.

Have you checked for stamps? Maybe a plain fleece stamped with Harry Potter scenes in food coloring or vegetable dye. Dry it on high to set the color.

With my two piggies, being picked up depends on their mood. Lacy will chatter away whilst you hold her whilst Darcy keeps really still, probably because he is nervous of everythig bless him.

I've never had much money, so finding creative options was the only way to have things I wanted. I made most birthday and holiday gifts for years. Saved for the things I can't make I've just gotten used to thinking that way. It has allowed me to have huge guinea pig cages I couldn't otherwise afford.

I just found an excellent product by product review. You all are once again right...the top two kibbles are Oxbow and Kleenmama albatross3300.hubpages.com/hub/guineapigdryfoodsSo this is what I've decided. Since my boys are still young, I tracked down Oxbow Cavy Performance Young Guinea Pig (Alfalfa Based), 5-Pound Bag at a local PetSmart. It took some hunting as most stores in the area don't carry it. It is expensive, but I ask myself two questions. What is best for my boys and what will keep them out of the vet office? Once they get to about 10-12 months, I'll switch them over to a timothy hay based feed. I'm leaning towards Small Pet Select or Oxbow for that. I have a little bit of time to decide. So I'm very frugal and money is very tight. Something that I'm struggling with is what to do with the food that I have already? I know I need to slowly switch them to the new food, but I know that I'll have lots of food left over. It's killing me to think of throwing away money by throwing away this food. Also, I can only imagine hubby's reaction. QUESTION: Do you all agree that I should slowly mix the new Oxbow kibble with the kibble I have been giving them?

Excellent article! Couldn't have said it better myself. Check this chart on Guinealynx: www.guinealynx.info/chart.html It lists all the important nutritional components of most fruits and vegs. Avoid those high in A, as A has been linked to internal organ failure in guinea pigs. However, there are also studies showing no link to internal organ failure, and a need for A to keep teeth and bones healthy. My personal recommendation is, since there is a huge amount of A in most pellets, go easy with high A veggies and fruits. I cut a carrot into slices, and feed the pigs a slice at a time as a special treat. My other comment is 1/8 of a bell pepper is a lot the first time. It will cause mushy poos. Start with a thin slice and increase the size of the slice until you get to the amount you want to feed regularly. Definitely phase in the new pellets. Start with about a 1:4 ratio of new pellets to old, and increase 2:4, 3:4 until it's all new pellets.

Harry is going to drive me to drink!
So I'm in the kitchen prepping a chicken to cook. Next to the kitchen is the bathroom (The Burrow) that I've designated as their daily hangout. I hear a strange noise. It sounded like one of the boys wasn't happy. Well, I'm stuck as I have a raw chicken in my hands. So I clean up and find Harry chasing Weasley all over the place. He is non stop. Weasley can't get away. I hear chattering of teeth but I'm not sure who is doing it. I'm thinking Weasley. I stand there with a towel in hand and verbally scolding Harry, but I'm waiting to intervene to see if Weasley can get away or Harry would stop. No, it is just non stop chasing. So I decide to intervene. I first start by hanging a towel between the boys. Now Harry is very loudly chattering. (I don't think I've heard him chatter this loud before). Now I'm thinking that I need to separate them. I get Weasley back to Hogwarts. I hear Harry walking around The Burrow looking for Weasley.
Just 30 minutes earlier when I was giving them my carrot and celery scraps from my chicken dish, they seemed fine and dandy eating right next to each other. I'm baffled as to what could have started this craziness. I'm going to give it 30 minutes to see how Harry behaves when I bring Weasley near him.
I decided to come online and vent to you all since I'm home alone.
ARG!!!

Maybe an argument over veggies?? As long as no blood has been drawn I would just keep a close eye on them? Are they similar ages? You have probably said but I have the memory of a goldfish lol xx

lol, glittze2001, you crack me up. Thanks for the advice.
In observing Harry when he catches up to Weasley, it appears that Harry is just horny. So after a little cooling off, I tried to bring them back together again. Harry started trying to hump Weasley immediately and the chase was on. I separated them again. After a little longer cooling off period, I tried again. Harry tried again, but gave only half-hearted chase. He also gave periods of relief, so I left them together.

Funny story...so Weasley was laying on top of hubby's chest tonight...and he is relaxed, hanging out, watching the sites...next thing you know, he turns to face hubby's mouth and just stares...after some time hubby, goes, "ouch." Weasley grabbed some of his facial hair and pulled. After that, he kept trying, well he tried after hubby stopped chuckling, and then he succeeded in getting a hair out and ate it. lol...silly piggie.

Harry is going to drive me to drink! Ooh I like that idea - I'm going to get a bottle of wine ready for when Josh and Cadders next play up! I do feel your frustration though. I don't know what's got in to Josh at the moment but he is being insufferable, having periods of constantly rumblestrutting and waggling his bottom in Cadders' face. Cadders usually likes a bit of a chase now and then but you can see he's getting fed up - as far as he's concerned he's top pig and he's taking Josh's randiness (I think that's all it is, he doesn't seem to want to be in charge) as a threat, so feels obliged to chase him and give him a peck or two. No one's getting hurt and Josh doesn't get at all stressed out by being chased - he seems to court it really. So I just leave them to it, but I think Cadders would quite like him to know his place a bit more! They're funny though as they'll alternate between these mad chasing fits, and the next moment be snuggled up under a box together as cosy as you like.

There is no telling what will happen when hormones are involved. Think teenagers, lol I'm glad the boys finally settled down, SiLamb, and hope Josh and Cadders do, too.

LOL Sent from my SCH-I435 using proboards lol...sorry for sending you into a panic. There is no telling what will happen when hormones are involved. Think teenagers, lol I'm glad the boys finally settled down, SiLamb, and hope Josh and Cadders do, too. And like teenagers, they are fickle. So after cuddling with the boys while watching TV, hubby and I were getting the boys ready to go to bed. We moved them to Hogwarts, and I waited and watched. I wanted to see how they would behave before going to bed myself. Well Harry started chasing Weasley again. It was hard for me to do, but I just watched to see how the chasing would progress. Next thing I know, Harry bit Weasley's lower lip. No blood was drawn, but I knew that I wasn't going to get a wink of sleep if I left them there together because things where escalating. So I immediately grabbed Weasley and brought him back to The Burrow. My logic is that the naughty pig gets the smaller habitat and the one being terrorized gets the best habitat. This morning I decided to try putting them back together again. Harry resumed his chasing. I had an appointment this morning so I decided to separate them again until after my appointment. While I was gone, my 20 lb box of 2nd cutting timothy hay from SmallPetSelect.com arrived. It looks very green, smells good, and appears to have a lot of leaves. So I thought I'd change the hay bin in The Burrow before trying to add Harry back. Weasley immediately headed to the hay bin and started eating. Then I added Harry who also headed straight to the hay bin. It's been about 60 minutes and I've heard nothing from The Burrow except happy boy sounds.
