Oh gosh, I can see I'm going to have to abuse my powers again this year and ban certain words! For the record, I love Christmas too, but if I've listened to people bleating on about it from summer I'm over it by the time it's here - at least wait until we've got into winter?! Baaaaa! thbpbpthpt pfftthpth (I didn't know how to spell out a raspberry...per ask.com this is how... hehehe)

Yesterday I was able to babysit for a new family of three children and one grandmother. I had a fantastic time with them all. Playing games with the kids was great and talking with Granny was lovely. Granny also likes cooking shows like me...so we bonded even more while watching some while the kids napped.

Silamb, the newer machines that do embroidery only do set patterns, sizes and colors. Good if you want to do a red rose, but not if your want green leaves as well. That sort of thing. You could monogram towels. A friend has an embroidery business with the machines that do whole scenes and do different levels of thread count in different areas, to create texture. Not happening with the sewing machine version. It's good to do a lot of different techniques and figure out what you really want the machine to do better. Then you'll buy the right one for you

I'm in my 60s and still remember waiting for the test results. I remember the trips to visit colleges, entrance applications and THE ESSAY to get accepted, and the endless waiting to here from the colleges. Nerve racking and exciting at the same time. Enjoy the end of your break

I am having endless Internet problems since our change over to the latest and greatest our cable/internet provider has to offer was installed on Friday. We are still trying to work out the kinks, and so far my phone won't even connect to Wheekers, Facebook or much of anything else through the WiFi. GRRRRR! Anyway, we finally figured out how to connect the laptop, which while slow, is working. I'm here for now

This new package is supposed to be super versatile. Record a show on any tv, watch it on any tv. All recordings go to a cloud. Can record 4 shows at once. No need for a recorder on every tv so we can record multiple shows or watch the same recording on any tv. Problem is it doesn't work. I recorded a show on the basement tv, and we were trying to watch it on the snug tv, up three flights of stairs. Hubby spent over an hour going up and down stairs. He kept sending the recording to the snug, but instead of making it available, it just kicked me off what I was watching, and onto what was currently showing on the channel that aired the show I recorded. We are really hoping it's just a matter of learning to operate the new system, but there are no operating instructions, and so far it's been terrible. The test scores also used to get posted on the bulletin board, where everyone could see them. Great if we did well. Not so great if we didn't. There were always students milling around the board trying to get up the nerve to look Didn't help having some students jumping for joy. Not sure if schools even have bulletin boards anymore.

I don't remember our results being listed for all to see - not by name anyway. I still have a vision of collecting the envelope for my A levels though and summoning up the courage to open it!
3piggles, that must be soooooo frustrating - if that was happening in our house, fella would be turning the air blue.

I was coming out of the supermarket and the truck with these racks was parked next to my car. There was a snake sticker on the back window, so I had to get to an angle where I couldn't see that. I hope you can see the intricate, carved details on these racks!

Brilliant! Well done laddy! Is he out celebrating with his friends? Hope they've all done well too - it's difficult when some friends in a group are ecstatic and others are gutted!

14 exams!!! Dang!!! That's amazing, and to do so well. He deserves a lot of congratulations. Lots and lots Bean, at first I thought it was a bed frame, and wondered why it was so short. Then I realized they were the most incredible racks I'd ever seen!

3piggles, your cable and my cable must be in cahoots together. We just got a new cable box with DVR. It hasn't worked right since. I've been on the phone four times already and am having a cable man come this morning to see about fixing it.
3piggles, thanks for sharing the pic of the truck. Very cool.
darkniteangel, that's FANTASTIC news about your son. Congrats!
