My guinea pig Westley died today (March 31,2015). He was eight years old and suddenly became very ill. He was taken to the vet and the vet gave him some fluids but said that there was nothing that he could do. I love Westley very much. I just wanted to give him a little shout out. Rest In Peace Forever Westley. I am sorry I got busy the past few months but know I love you more than you love carrots and peeing on strangers. Have fun in Heaven Buddy! Love you Wes-A

Hello and welcome. I'm so sorry you lost Westley. He sounds like a great guinea guy, and I'm sure he forgave you for being busy. He probably enjoyed watching your antics. 8 is a great age for guinea pigs, as most live about 5 years. I'd say you did very well by him

I'm so sorry to hear about Westley's passing. 8 years though....wow...he lived a long and happy life. I know how hard it is to lose a pet, so I really feel for you.

Hi jolovespiggies! Well, I do have another guinea pig (he is about 3 years old). He was originally my brothers but it turns out my brother is allergic and not much of an animal person. I take care of him though! I hope to always have guinea pigs! They are so sweet and cute!

Hi Whimsy! Thank you for your reply. It is very hard losing a pet): I hope Westley was happy while he was still here!I actually chose his name because my favorite book/movie is The Princess Bride. Thank you for your nice words! P.S the guinea pig in your profile picture looks similar to my other guinea pig!

Were Westley and your other pigs cage mates? If so, your other pigs is missing his pal, and very lonely. Consider getting another pig as a piggy pal. Most rescues allow you to bring your existing pig in for a meet and greet with other pigs, to see who gets along well with your pig. I know it's hard to get another pig, when you are still mourning Westley.

Hi Westly, hope you are ok, a guineapig leaves a bigger gap than we imagine. I think it's because their life is dependant on what we give them, the wee souls, so we have a lot of chatting, feeding, cleaning, oh yes the cleaning, so they become a busy part of our life. Sending you a big hid Westly. Xx
