I'm finding a few more and I'd love to share them before I get Oscar another buddy: Although I'm not gonna lie- whoever comes next has some pretty big shoes to fill! And I'd like to share a new pic of Oscar, just to lighten this thread up: He likes to make sure he gets his closeup!

He is just gorgeous love, that lovely face with the puffy whisker pads. They are both absolutely adorable.

I'm not sure if I should start a new thread, so for now I'll stick to this one... HERE'S THE NEW GUY! His given name at the shelter was Theodore, and since my daughter likes that name, it will stay. He seems nice enough- he's actually shares numerous traits with Oscar (they both have similar wheeks, and both flip their pigloos over) but I still miss Deo. That's the only pic I have for now, Oscar going out of his head wheeking like crazy as the cages are close together. We're putting a blanket between them so we all can get some sleep for the night!

Oh a newbie! I was expecting to see Oscar when I saw a new photo, so that surprised me! He's adorable - I think he has a bit of mischief in his eyes too! I'm glad you found someone at the shelter and hope he and Oscar will become good friends in time - it sounds like Oscar is happy to have another pig around and I'm sure Theodore will be delighted to find a new home with a new friend too.
It does always feel like there's an element of disloyalty when you find a new friend for a bereaved pet. But Deo will never be forgotten, by your family and loved ones or by us. You've done the right thing for Oscar and have given Theodore a marvellous new home - Theodore will win his own rightful place in your hearts, completely separate to Deo's.

Theodore is adorable, and as Bean said, he's got a bit of mischief in his eyes I love that in a pig. Might not be the biggest snuggler, but when you give them a great life, they totally enjoy it If you want, you can go back to page 1 of this thread, do EDIT, and add Theodore to the SUBJECT. Just save it at the bottom where the regular Create Post button is, and he'll officially be a Bazookagoof piggy

You'll have to forgive me, I'm still finding nice ones of Deo. When I run out, that will be that. Oscar is seeing if this new object would make a nice snack. Theodore is still camera-shy, but I was able to snap off this one: There's a small chance his name might change, so until my daughter makes up her mind, I'll hold off on changing the title of this thread to include it.

Definitely forgiven - gorgeous photos have no time limit and it's lovely to be thinking of Deo as your pig community evolves.
Hope Theodore settles down. A lot of pigs are much more skittish on their own, so fingers crossed for he and Oscar getting along and him having a calming influence on him.
Our Rocky was ridiculously skittish when we got her - I'm generally a dab hand at picking up pigs without the whole chasing thing, but she had me totally beaten! She'd been the solo pet of a very young child before coming to us, so no wonder she didn't want to be picked up. Now she's very laid back about people and easy peasy to pick up! Of course some pigs don't change how they feel, but you never know!
Keep us posted about the name! I kind of like that it can be shortened to Theo which rhymes with Deo, so is an extra little way for him to be remembered, but I'm sure any name your daughter picks will be just as cute. Josh got his name at the rescue and kept it as my son thought it fitted him perfectly!

Morty was his name when I got him, and it seemed to fit him, so I kept it. Noodles was the name of one of the girls, not sure which one, so we kept that and named the other girl Oodles. I agree that Theo would be a great nickname! I hope, whatever name you choose, you all enjoy it for a long time

Please don't apologise love, we all love looking at pigtures like this. Yes I know what you mean Bean love, we were lucky there, when Mr Darcy went we already had Merley to put with Lacy so it wasn't so bad. Theodore has a little hat on like Merley LOL! I know it is called a coronet but I am always asking hm "Who has a little hat on then." I really love the one with the camera lens, I suspect Theo thought you had food LOL!

I just wanted to address this- you're right. I'm just used to Deo's little quirks and personality, and the new guinea pig is obviously not the same at all. It will eventually be okay; I'm still missing him. If I can get a few new pics this weekend, there will be more to come! (But no shots of them together until the quarantine period is over, some time just before Christmas.)

I know how you feel. I still remember so many things about all my former piggies, and the memories make me smile. It may not seem like it right now, but eventually Theo will have created his own memories for you, and you will appreciate him for the piggy he is You already love him, so he's off to a great start

He will make you happy darling, just not in the way your past piggies have done. But it will not be diminished, just different.

Theodore has an oddly expressive face; I managed to snap off three pics before he high-tailed it to his pigloo!

He is absolutely gorgeous love, I particularly like the second picture. It looks as if he hasn't heard you and properly and is saying "Pardon" "Sorry" or "Excuse Me?" LOL!!

A rare shot of Deo standing upright! A nice closeup of Oscar relaxing in my daughter's lap: Another shot of Theodore looking like he's rolling his eyes at all this nonsense:

Deo was a gorgeous guinea guy, that's for sure Oscar looks so content, and Theodore is perky and inquisitive. I think you've got a spunky boy in him

My current trend is to post three pics of my guys, until I run out of Deo pics. Here's one of Deo caught in mid-sneeze! A nice profile shot of Oscar! Theodore looks guilty, as he was caught in the act of snacking!
