I still think it's weird to go grocery shopping too, because I'm so used to buying veggies that I knew the guinea pigs would like and now it's just about me. I'm currently looking through old pictures of my cats, because I might want to make a photobook of them too. I got Molly in 2001 and since that I got 4 other cats (1 I adopted, two from my then boyfriend and one from a friend who couldn't keep his cat at his new place). All of them except for Molly have passed away now, but it's really neat to look back that many years and see all the crazy stuff they did. I even have little videos of them too, including Melvin wheeking as a little baby. So cute. I hope I never forget any of them - including cats and dogs we had growing up.

I doubt you will, if they're special to you, they stay with you. I can remember all my childhood pets so well, whereas I can look at old pictures from school and think 'who's that?'!

I am the same, all my past pets are still tucked into my heart. I just wish i could stop hurting when I think of them and remember the happy times.

My parents didn't take pictures, so I have pictures of my pets and my life after I got married, but few family photos from before then. Sad, as we always had dogs and cats, and I remember them, but we have no photos. I think it's great to do a photo album, and to view it. The digital picture frames are great for that, as is running a slide show on your computer. The more you see the pictures, the easier it gets, after a while. It's harder with some than with others, that's for sure. We still joke, when we eat salads, that we're eating the piggy veggies. I made tomato sauce today, and the guinea girls have been going nuts over the smell of the fresh oregano, basil and parsley. I'll lose a finger, if I'm not careful

When we have salad, we always say we have to ask our babies first as we are eating their food. Hugs Jo xx

I got my photo book this week and I am really happy with it. I can't help crying though when I look at it. So many good memories, but so much sadness too. I miss those little guys <3 I have taken a few pictures of some of the pages so you can see how it looks. I put in the cards I got from the vet when I lost both Mila and Melvin and a poem about rainbow bridge on the last page. On one page you can see my cat looking at Melvin. He was obsessed with Melvin when I first brought him home, but never tried to hurt him. I had a small cage when I first got him, but I got smarter and got a larger cage and later on a C&C cage :-) Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted

That is gorgeous love, what wonderful memories. Sad and happy at the same time. I cannot look at the photos of my past babies without crying, so I know exactly what you mean.

Aww that's lovely - what a delightful tribute to your beloved furries. Whilst I can imagine it tugs heavily on your heart strings right now, in the future I bet you will have a big smile on your face looking fondly through it.

Wonderful!!! I wish I had thought to do this with all of mine. Maybe I'll do that, later, when I have time to go through almost 2 decades of pictures. I'm really glad you got to do that, and even if it makes you cry, it's a great way to keep the memories easily available

Two decades of pictures...wow, that would be a lot of work. I'm working on a cat book right now and I have a ridiculous number of cat pictures. I do find though, you don't have as many when you go back to the film camera days, so maybe when you get back far enough, it will be a little easier. Thanks for all the compliments. I'm really happy I made it 😀

I don't have any pictures of Dakota. Dallas and Dakota were my daughters pigs, but she didn't take care of them. Dakota got a URI, the vet gave him one round of Baytril, and never said anything about bringing him back if that didn't do it. He seemed to get better, then he got a lot worse. That's when we took the boys away from our daughter, and put them in the living room, but it was too late for Dakota. He was a beautiful, sweet little black piggy, and I wish I had pictures of him. Zippy joined Dallas after Dallas lost Dakota, and the rest is history. 10 pigs later, I have a lot of pictures We didn't take many pictures of our cats, the geese or the bunnies, which I wish we had. They could all have their own books We had pictures of all of the dogs, but we lost most of those when one of our discs crashed, and hubby hadn't backed up the disc. It would be fun to do a dog book, as they were all different

Aww, that's a sad story about Dakota. Luckily we live and learn and 10 piggies later, I'm sure you're an expert now ☺️ We always beat ourselves up about all the things we should have done, but we do the best we can with what we know at the time. The vet should definitely have given you more information. It's a lot of work to make a book, but I enjoy it and you do have lots of laughs looking at all the silly things your pets have done.

I didn't know you have kept geese Piggles love, I adore them. Were they friendly? I am sorry to hear about Dakota but when we all think bad were realise that we have made mistakes and were on a learning curve. Oh yes Whimsey hunni, that is very true. All we can do now is pass our knowledge on in the hope that people who are new to piggies listen and do not make the same mistakes.

Charlie and Tina. They were a bonded goose couple we got from a neighbor. Charlie patrolled the yard, while Tina and Freddy Bunny helped my hang out the laundry. I quickly learned to put a layer of rags on top of the clean laundry, so Tina could toss them around, and Freddy could jump into the laundry basket without getting his dirty feet all over the clean laundry. A bit hard to hang out the laundry when I had to constantly remove the bunny from the basket, but I wouldn't have done it any other way

They sound adorable Piggles love, very mischievous. It was probably great fun to try and get muddy feet all over your nice clean washing LOL!! When Paul was young he had a job delivering milk and there were these naughty geeses who loved to jump out at him from behind a bush. He would rattle the milk bottles at them and it became a short of a game enjoyed by both parties. Some people are afraid of them and I don't know why, I just love to stroke their little soft heads.

They are very territorial, and very threatening to any strangers who enter their territory. My great aunt and uncle had watch geese, and we used to drive into their yard, stay in the car until they had the house door open and were out of the way, then we'd run as fast as we could from the car into the house. If we didn't, the geese would attack us. These were our geese, so we would okay in that territory. Others weren't as lucky, but it was actually good. We had a 550 foot driveway, and we had several people drive in to see if anyone was home, with obvious intentions of burglarizing the place. Between the dogs and the geese, we were virtually burglar proof.

Haha, better than a burglar alarm then lol! I can't remember revisiting the farm where our golden retriever puppy was from and we got out of the car and two geese marched behind us until we reached the farm house, making a noise. They didn't attack us but they were certainly watching their patch bless them.

There was a brewery in Massachusetts that had watch geese instead of an alarm system. The geese could be heard all the way to the town center, and were likely to attack intruders, so it worked great. I remember driving by the brewery and seeing the geese marching around inside the high fence. Our American members probably remember it. The ad used to say Carling Brewery, on the shores of Lake Cochichuit. It was in Natick, Massachusetts, right on Rt. 9.
