Hi my name is Snuggie and I'm a 3 month Abby and my hubby's name is Chocolate (don't know age) and he is a Teddy, and our Mommies name is Heather. As I originally thought he was a she until he showed signs of being a male and than separated immediately and now my Chocolate will be hopefully neutered in the next week and we are going through pregnancy watch with Miss Snuggie as I believe she is pregnant 😫. As I was never trying to breed my babies to begin with I never knew I had a male and female. But we just wanted to say hi to everyone

Hello and welcome to Wheekers You two are gorgeous, and I love your living spaces. Snuggie, you have a fabulous cuddle cup or soft house there. Love it I hope your neutering goes flawlessly, Chocolate, and you two are back together soon. There is a thread on pregnancy in our Wheekerpedia section. It's very informative, and you might find it helpful, Heather. Chocolate will need to be separated from Snuggie for at least a month after the surgery, so there is no more sperm in his system. Some people say to wait two months. I tended to do 4-6 weeks, with no problems. The 8 weeks was based on a few boars getting sows pregnant after neutering, which makes me wonder about that neutering process. Is that a Midwest cage? Another member was asking about them, and I've always thought they were very versatile. If it is a Midwest, how do you like it?

Hi thank you so much! I have read so much and keep improving on how to properly take care of the 😁 oh I may wait 4+ weeks as this wasn't a planned pregnancy and I feel like a bad mommy being she may be pregnant 😩 and yes it is a Midwest cage and I love it 😍 I originally had one being I thought I had 2 girls and when I found out I didn't it came in handy to separate them! Actually I ordered another one and it came today which makes them great because you can combine them and make a big one 😁

Hi Heather and welcome to Wheekers! What gorgeous piggies! All the best for Chocolate for the neutering - this page is great for advice on making sure you've got an excellent vet that will help your boy sail through his op. All surgery carries a risk, but with a competent and experienced vet, the risks are minimal. Fingers crossed Snuggie has escaped getting pregnant, especially being so young. It's awful how many pet shops and breeders mis-sex the animals they sell. I'm assuming it's you that sent me the message by the way - if you can just confirm it, I'll delete that account for you!

Hi yes I am sorry I did send you the message! May you please delete it for me, I would appreciate it greatly. I unfortunately believe she is pregnant she is so so so big! I'm just praying she will be okay through labor I would lose my mind if something happened to my baby or even the babies! And thank you I am praying his surgery goes well also because I can't wait to put them back together they kiss each other through their cages everyday lol!

I once adopted two girls at 10-12 weeks old, and one of them turned out to be pregnant. I must admit it was really stressful as she was still so tiny herself, and had nowhere for the babies to go - she looked like a dinner plate by the end and could hardly walk (meanwhile her sister was a typical youngster, popcorning around and getting into everything!). But one morning I went in to find three gorgeous babies and everyone was healthy and happy, so it had a happy ending. (We hadn't planned to, but we kept all the babies too!)
It's definitely worth getting in touch with the place you got them from and letting them know they have mis-sexed the guinea pigs and that a youngster is pregnant as a result. I can't guarantee they'll care as they've made their sale, buit if no one even tells them, they don't even get the opportunity to learn from their mistakes.
I've deleted the other account, Heather.

You are more than welcome love. That happened to us also Heather and we kept the babies. I think Honey had four and they were the cutest things ever. Please keep us posted.

I called and complained they didn't seem much to care, told me I could bring the babies to them if I didn't want them! I told them they are crazy I would never bring my babies to them ugh all for a sale! And thank you so much for helping to delete the account I am new to using this all together so I was extremely confused! And thank you jolovespiggies I am nervous for my baby but it's not getting closer so I awaiting the arrival of these little cuties as I am taking my boar next week to be fixed as this can't happen again. I will keep all you lovely guys updated on Miss Snuggie's delivery when it happens as she is getting very big very fast I believe she is due within the next week or so. It's kinda cute as she lays down and has to sprawl her little legs out because she can't fit them under

I feel so sorry for the babies who get pregnant and have babies. I realize it's what happens in the wild, but this isn't the wild, and there's no excuse for it. I'm sorry your complaints to the seller fell on deaf ears, but that's what usually happens, at least in the US. In other countries, there are much better laws about how animals must be kept. As usual, we're way behind them The ability to connect the Midwest cages is what I really like about them. I have been told that the plastic liner fouls easily, and it's best if you cover it with something suck as clear contact paper. When that won't come clean any longer, you can replace it, and the cage liner is still as good as new. Also, pine pellet horse bedding, costs about $6/40 pound bag, will keep the cage liner clean. It also keeps the formed plastic bottoms of cages clean, and if that cage bottoms aren't too dirty, will clean them. You don't need much, just wet the pellets into granules as directed, put a layer of granules in the bottom of the cage, and put the rest of the bedding on top of that layer. Use a layer of fiberglass window screen between the granules and the fleece, of that's your next layer. The screen keeps the granules from clinging to the underside of the fleece, and since the granules don't have to be changed very often unless they get full of poos and hay, it saves you from constantly having to replace the granules, as well. Best of luck to you and poor Snuggie. I'm sure Chocolate appreciates being able to see his wife, even if he can't be with her.

Ooooh that leg picture is killing me - I love it so much when their little legs stick out! It looks like you have a great set up there, and definitely room for a couple more...! I'm sorry the pet shop didn't give a monkeys - so typical, but thank you for trying anyway. Can you feel the babies moving? Usually if you put your hands gently on their sides, you can feel them squirming around in the last few weeks - there's no denying it at that point! Here's my little Charlie at about 4 months old, still with a couple of weeks of being pregnant to go. She could hardly walk, bless her. Attachment DeletedI love the jigsaw fleece by the way!

Awe thank you ladies I found the fleece at Jo-Ann, and I made it myself well attempted to but I must say it can out lovely 😊. And yes it angers me that people don't care at all I wish the laws in the US was better but unfortunately they are not. And no 😓 my baby won't allow me to touch her anymore she runs from you if you try to pet her or even try to feel her belly she literally looks so unhappy and I'm so scared for her being she is so young on the 11th of this month she should be turning 4 months I believe. But I want to trim her nails and I can't even though they are not bad but I want to make things easy on her and she is so stubborn right now! And Chocolate is such a horney little man he bites at the cage so much and does his calls to her now he is starting to bite ugh 😑. Oh treen she is such a cutie pie 😍 I wish Snuggie would let me get a nice picture of her but she just runs away! And yes lol when she sleeps now both her little feet are sprawled all the way out she looks funny 😂
