The lady at the rescue got a skinny pig in last week, so I decided to knit him a sweater. I went out there today and he modelled a couple of different ones..haha. It's my first time making something like this and although there's room for improvement, I'm pretty happy with the outcome. It's minus 12 degrees C here today, so although he is inside, he still needs some extra warmth. Merry Christmas to everybody!!! Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted Attachment Deleted

He is adorable sweetie, he certainly landed on his little paws when you became his mum.

Awww he's adorable, and look at them cosied up together - beautiful!
That's great they seem to have hit it off too, even if skinny pig is making a racket to show he's not got any designs on being top pig. If Cosmo is showing no signs of aggression or even lairy domination, then hopefully they are well on their way to harmony, it's just a case of Mr Skinny relaxing a bit.
Provided they have plenty of space (to get away from each other if things get a bit charged) I'd be happy to heave them for a few hours after 24 hours of happy cohabitation. Fingers crossed!

There were no problems overnight. Skinny loves his snuggle bag and Cosmo even joined him there. There's no aggression, so I'll leave them together while I'm at work. They have a 2x4 grid c&c cage with houses and stuff. It's the biggest I can have in my apartment.

I just decided to separate them while I'm at work. I just don't want to worry while being away for 8 hours. They can still see each other, so hopefully they will be fine.

The barrier was broken down when I got home, but they were both fine, so I guess somebody was just overly anxious to visit the other. There's a lot of squeeling from the skinny pig, but Cosmo isn't hurting him. I think he's just excited to have a friend.

I think it's always good to go with your instincts - if you'd have worried knowing they were together, it wasn't the right time to leave them. But obviously they had other ideas haha! I'm glad all was well anyway, that's really good news.

He's adorable, and I'm glad they are getting along so well. It seems as if they really want to be together. Skinny may be a talker. My Oodles is. Always has something to say Excellent that it's working out so well

So, I haven't updated you in a long time. The skinny pig is doing well, but unfortunately Cosmo passed away on Monday. He got up to a healthy weight and maintained it for a few months, but then it started dropping again. He kind of plateaued for a while and then he started losing weight again. I took him to the vet a couple of times. Once he had a head tilt and the vet thought he had an inner ear infection, so he was on meds for 2 weeks. It did help, but he kept losing weight. He ate well, but the last couple of weeks it really went downhill and Sunday night he was very weak. I checked on him during the night, but in the morning he was very weak and wouldn't eat, so I made the decision to have him put to sleep that afternoon. It absolutely broke my heart, but I knew it was the right thing to do. I have no idea how old he was, but I know he lived the last 9 months of his life being happy and spoiled. I will really miss him.

It absolutely broke my heart, but I knew it was the right thing to do. It was, definitely. I've known a few pet owners who preferred to let their animals suffer instead of doing the right thing.
