If you go to Wheekers home page, it shows who has visited each day. I noticed members who no longer post still visit, and view the posts. Some quite regularly. It would be nice if they would say hello once in a while, but it's nice to know they still stop in.
Most former members got too busy to post, and to just share things with social media friends, Facebook and the others are one stop to cover everything. Some rescue and train dogs. Cats, rabbits, etc. Some married and started families. There are lots of reasons they no longer participate, though I'm still friends with many of them, on Facebook.
I follow CavyMadness on Facebook. She doesn't even have a forum anymore. She mostly blogging on Facebook. Guinealynx is on Facebook, too, which gives them pretty much unlimited followers.
Google Guinea pig forums, and we aren't listed. Google Guinea pig information, and we're not listed. I'm just trying things people would search for, and however searches are done, we're not being flagged. Google us directly and we show.

I think I found Wheekers through Google, I don't remember exactly. I do recall looking through some options and after browsing here, it seemed like a pleasant board to post on. I dislike Reddit intensely, so even though it's a busy place it also has more than its share of internet lunatics crowding the field there. Count me out.

Many of us came here from another forum, that is now defunct. This one was nicer, and I think our leaving probably hastened the demise of the other forum. Bean and I also belonged to another forum, where I'm still a member(never deleted my account), but it, too, wasn't a nice forum.
The point to her starting this one was to be encouraging with new piggy owners, and that was hard to find in some of the forums out there.
I'm still Facebook friends with many a few of the members of the first forum, but have nothing to do with the second one.
I found, googling a problem brings up many sites where that has been discussed. If it's been discussed on Wheekers, we show. If not, we don't. I searched for guinea pig forums using Bing. I should try it with Google. Probably much more inclusive.
