Your second point is why I think it would be nice to have team masks or school masks, so all the kids can get masks they want to wear. I have no problem with them continuing to wear masks. Holidays are always iffy because of flu, head colds and other bugs making it so we don't want to be too near the relatives coming out the other side of those illnesses. If we all wore masks when we're not at home, it would greatly reduce the amount of seasonal illness. The Center for Disease Control is already saying we're going to get a double whammy when the flu hits, as the pandemic won't be over, and they expect this flu to be a bad one. Flu seems to get worse every year? We'll get our flu shots in September, once we find a place giving them, that doesn't have a 4 hour wait. We have walk-in places that give them, but they've been flooded with pandemic cases. Once school starts, I have a feeling they'll be flooded with pandemic cases, again.
I think the schools are going to work hard to keep masks on the people they belong to, keep hands washed, etc. It would help if they had more parents volunteering to help in the classrooms, even if they just monitor the kids to keep them wearing their masks and washing their hands. Sadly, after the kids were home for all these months, the last thing most parents want to do is spend time in the classroom with them. I think a lot of parents need a sanity check, even if just a short one.
There are going to be kinks to work out of the systems, but I think schools and businesses will work hard to get those kinks out of the process, as the option is closing businesses, and remote schooling.
