Update got them Checked out. The vet said they couldn’t feel anything but as they can’t pee to give them some metacam for 10 days once daily. See if that improves however if it doesn’t or they get worse to call for another appointment as then they’ll do X-rays. They also said to avoid veg high in calcium. I know kale and veg are high in calcium? Do you guys know what other veg and herbs that are high in calcium just want to know what else to avoid when I next get more veg.

Good start. I hope the Metacam helps!
All dark, leafy greens are high in calcium, among other things. That includes broccoli. It's best to feed those in moderation, anyway. Same with carrots, though I never could find anything backing the idea that Vitamin A was dangerous to guinea pigs. For now you might want to stick to bell peppers, cucumbers, fennel, Belgian Endive, romaine lettuce, etc.

Please keep us informed Please keep us informed Will do. They hate taking it but i Manage to do it. Rusty is easier than Pete but once they get veg after there fine. Hopefully I’ll see changes soon. Just do double check are any herbs low in calcium?

I think coriander is low in calcium.
Glad you managed to get the boys checked out. It sounds like the vet was pretty happy with their overall condition, which is good news. But having an anti-inflammatory pain killer covers a few bases while you watch them for a bit longer. I think if they weren't managing to see at all you'd be seeing some more marked symptoms by now, so fingers crossed there is nothing too serious at the root of it all.
The pigs I've had to give metacam to have always liked it (unlike antibiotics - everyone hates those). Hopefully once the boys get over the indignancy of being force fed something, they might warm up to it and make your life easier!

Just an update
Luckily they’ve started to pee a bit more now. However I was wondering does metcam make pigs more thirsty as I’ve noticed they’ve drank a lot more water in the last couple days. They don’t ussually drink much water. ? I’ve only noticed this the last 2 days not since they’ve started the medication.

I can't find anything that says Metacam makes guinea pigs, or any animals, thirsty. While that doesn't mean it doesn't make them thirsty, it seems more likely that it's easy whatever made them not want to drink/pee in the first place. Did the vet give you any Bactrim or Baytril for the pigs? I should also ask the reason the vet said he/she was prescribing Metacam for them? I'm not against the Metacam, but it implies the vet thinks some sort of pain is stopping them from drinking/peeing, and that pain is most likely a UTI. Metacam won't cure that, only an antibiotic will. That's why I'm asking what the vet gave as a reason for prescribing Metacam.

So prescribed it to see if it would improve anything. Incase it is an infection. But if it doesn’t improve anything or if things get worse to bring them back.

I don't know about metacam causing thirst, but I know when I take painkillers, they often make me want to drink a little more. Anything that affects their system can cause little changes like that.
If the vet had suspected a UTI I'm sure they would have given antibiotics (metacam is just an anti-inflammatory pain killer, it wouldn't treat an infection), but it sounds like they couldn't find anything wrong, so are just making sure they're comfortable while you wait to see if anything else develops or if they just go back to normal?
Stones would be another possible cause of issues with weeing, and metacam could help relieve the symptoms of that, but it would seem unusual for them both to develop stones at the same time.
I'm hoping it's just one of those random things that passes. It sounds like you're still keeping a close eye, so that's great.

Sorry I know this is a weird question but can pigs have brown and pink feet on the same paw? Asking as I just health checked
As I’ve noticed with my pigs that Pete has one pink paw and the rest are black paws (which is normal for him) but I noticed he has tiny bit of pink on his black paw (that paw I’ve always noticed black never with any pink or Mabye I’ve just never noticed it being both colours on his black paw) I think this is just down to his colouring
However With Rusty his paws have always been pink but a couple of his paws have started to become dark grey. Can pigs that are only one colour have dark grey and pink feet and can young pigges feet charge colour over time?
I assume this is Normal and just pigment changing as there young?

Yes. I've had several pigs with mottled skin, and with black nails on their dark feet, and light nails on the light feet. You have to remember that pigs aren't just what we see, but a whole genetic back story. Young pigs develop into grownup pigs, and their colors can change or show in different places. They don't usually change a whole lot, though.

All sounds normal to me too! I've also noticed that minor injuries can sometimes result in slightly different pigmentation, especially on dark skin.
Guinea pigs with different coloured front paws are a particular weakness of mine!

Reggie has different coloured front paws, so I have been indulged (more than once) but I just think it looks really cute!
