However, now we both have white and ginger pigs, and mine is called Biscuit and yours is called Cake, so I like the synchronicity of that! (And it ties in nicely with the whole debate, while not quite on the scone/scone level, of whether a jaffa cake is a biscuit or a cake. There are so many layers to this...) I actually assumed they were a misnamed biscuit (does that mean I've misnamed my cake?) but I'm actually largely unfamiliar with them apart from the fact that the same biscuit company that make digestives (and I do like good digestion). I really feel anything that's taking itself seriously as a cake needs to be sliced in order to be consumed. Fortunately Cake is living up to his name regardless, in terms of his growing bulk compared to Jaffa who is quite slight. It all fits!

I recently saw a feature on a news program filmed at the McVitie's jaffa cake factory, and the chap there was most insistent that they're cakes not biscuits. But I'm with you on the slicability factor - they are actually soft enough to slice, but it just doesn't sit well with me that something so round and flat and biscuit shaped could be a cake.
Who's the boss? (Don't say that you are, we all know that's not true.)

I can forgive the lack of icing in some specific cakes (looking at you banana bread {I mean banana cake! Am I right guys?!}) but slicability cannot be skimped on. Cake is better at getting food from humans; Jaffa just specialises in stealing it from him. Pui pui! Two little molcars parked in their double garage! It does make it easy to just unceremoniously pluck them out of their cage when they're parked in there. Heh heh.

Love that pic, Teebers! On a side note, we used to have a brand of banana cake (Sara Lee) that had the most wondrous icing on it. I don't think it's available anymore, but as I became allergic to bananas years ago I had to stop eating them. (I never forgave my body for this betrayal.)

Cute! They're definitely looking bigger.
I made banana bread last week and my son had it for breakfast one day, so I said 'You can't have cake for breakfast!' and he said 'It's not cake, it's bread,' but he knows it's cake really, even without icing (and I prefer banana bread without icing actually, but I'm never massive on icing anyway).

That icing recipe sounds similar to the icing for carrot cake (?bread). Which makes me wonder how carrot cake (?bread) would taste for breakfast without icing...

If it was already iced, what would you do with the icing - bin it, or save it to have with lunch?

I would probably have it in one big sugary mouthful as my second breakfast

I hope you didn't disappoint! With his paws set up like that, Cake could push a bit harder (Hulk-style) and have those grids pushed apart, and then he can go and get himself a whole apple anyway.
I'm with you on the second breakfast, although mine is usually pancakes, not icing.
