Thanks, Theresa. The whole cage cost less than $100, including the linoleum covering the flat parts where the kids would wet, and the castors under the cage. I originally had all the sides made of grids, but as I have back problems, I couldn't reach over the grids, so I change the fronts and sides to PlayPen, part of the Crittertrail selections from Super Pet. I'll paint them all the same color come summer, but for now, I have no place to paint.

I know this is late, but it's the first chance I've had to post pics of the kids and their Christmas dinner. Santa was very good to them, lol.

Wow!!!
That cage is amazing.
Ha my pigs probably wish they had that huge cage! But I only have 2 piggies. So maybe one day I'll build them a luxury cage. :]

Originally the cage was two equal levels of 4'X6', with two piggies in each cage. I couldn't reach to the back of the 4', so we cut it down to three feet on both levels, and used the pieces we took of each level to make the third level. I also couldn't reach to the back of the bottom cage, so that became storage, and the piggies got the penthouse, lol.

Woah! That is a huge cage for sure! Aren't your piggies lucky to have tunnels, pigloos, boxes and hayracks everywhere in their cage! Golly, I am absolutely speechless! Lovely pictures of their Christmas dinner! Looks very appetizing indeed! ;D Isn't that a great idea for you to put parsley in that fake log! But if I did it for my piggies, they'd knock that log down!

I wonder if I spend too much time thinking of ways to make their cage better, lol, but I've been trying to keep up with Pigjes and all her really cool toys and mazes. She still has me beaten on those, and when she finally moves to her new house, she'll have a 13 foot cage, so I figure her mini cooper will be replaced with a Formula 1 car, lol. I love giving the kids things to do. They love the cage, and they do have the rest of the room, if they get bored, lol.

When Zippy was little, he use to follow me all around the house. The others never did, and as he became a big pig, he had better things to do than follow me. This morning I was cleaning the cage and had to make a pit stop, so I went into the bathroom right outside the piggy room. I was all alone, so I didnt' shut the door. I looked up and there were three little piggies sitting in the doorway, looking at me like "where'd you got???" I had to laugh, they were so cute, and me with no treats, lol. I shooed them back into the piggy room and gave them treats for being so cute.

Thanks Newpig and Marigold13. Fudgy looks like Marigold, but I see a lot of Zippy in the way Marigold carries herself. Yes, piggies have lots of kiss spots, lol.
Pigjes, I'm getting this cavy slave thing down to a science, lol. And yes, I love it!!!
I bought some big plastic drawers to use under the cage, rather than try to pull out the big plastic buckets I was using. My back and hands don't work well enough to do that regularly or easily, so I'm hoping the drawers work better. I'm still working out the drawer layout, and will take pics when I get it finished.

I have one pigloo I cut the entrance off, and added a back entrance. It's my turtleloo, as they use it like a turtle shell. I have a couple of cute pics of Zippy in the tutleloo, being lazy.

Zippy loves to get into the hay, litterally. He's usually covered with hay pieces. As you can see, Little Girl likes to be in the hay loft. It's her private little hidey. Zippy and Momma don't jump, but LG does. I got one bail of hay into two plastic drawers, so I know that fits. I only have two more drawers, which I haven't filled. We've had so many water leaking problems, that every time I start to work on the piggy cage, I have to respond to a leak somewhere. Today, daughter found the storage unit was leaking, and the boxes and things were all wet. Another day not devoted to piggy organization, lol.

Oh Wow, I completely missed this! I love the piggy pictures! I like how you say "tutleloo" because they use it like a turtle shell! Mine do that too. Don't they look funny when they do that? I recently bought my girls a rabbit size one and they push that around too, but they have to do it from the inside walls as the opening is to wide to be a turtle. So it looks like the loo is moving all by it's self! lol Your piggies look fabulous!

My Chocolate is just like Zippy - he is always covered in hay and just loves to be stuck in it. Scrumpy is quite keen on climbing on top of things, like the pigloo and Caramel loves to jump but have never really seen any of the others doing it.
I have the rabbit size pigloos as well as my lot all like to cram into hideys together. I have seen Sally and Scrumpy both sort of raise their backs and try to shift the pigloos around like it was a shell. Funny to watch.
