Hello everbody and everypig! I am originally from Switzerland (hence my username), but live now in the the West Midlands in Britain. I grew up with guinea pigs and have come back to having them again five years ago. My piggies have all Welsh names, despite being from different rescues. Llewelyn (spoken tkhloo-EH-len) was actually rescued in Wales, he's a very busy neutered boar nowadays and doesn't take any stick from any of his girls! (English) Nerys and Nia are locally born teddy sisters and joined me in May. They were unloved, unhandled children's pets with razor sharp baby claws and have turned into lovely pets. My abby Taffy was part of a big rescue in June in Scotland. I had a long wait until she was ready to make the journey from her fosterer with her rescue born daughter Tegan. She is now ten weeks old. Taffy is still VERY skittish. I have just introduced all my piggies successfully over the weekend. Here they are: Nerys - Llewelyn - Taffy - Tegan - Nia

Talk about matching piggys! They are all gorgeous. Welcome to the forum. Would be great if you would start a thread in Meet the Pigs for them with lots more pics.

He he I hadn't even thought of that Yodelpig! Mind you first of all it would stop me taking in any more but also there are none in any shelters at the moment. Moo has been trying to find some for a few weeks and had real trouble. A few of us have been looking out for piggys for her and just none were around until she got her two boys. We don't seem to have the issues of over piggy population here that they do on Mainland, they don't even appear that often on the free ad sites.

Hello and welcome. You're herd is beautiful. It is cool how they match yet all come from different herds in different places.

Thanks everybody for your warm welcome!
I am sorry to hear about moo; I was looking for a girl or two for months in my region (with one failed introduction of a freshly rescued piggy) before I stumbled upon Nerys and Nia on a RSPCA webpage.
As soon as I had adopted them, there were lots of girls popping up all over the place all of a sudden!!!

Cute piggies. And Welcome to Wheekers! I like to fuzzy-headed pigger all the way to the right. Nia seems to be the name. THat's funny how the three middle ones all match.

Yeah - I thought so as well, and had to smile when I saw your name on here!
Did you know that it means "bright" (Welsh form of Irish Niamh)?

Going for Welsh names, means I prefer the pronounceable ones! Llewelyn (who got his name at the rescue) was bad enough, as my husband insisted on the proper pronounciation!!! The irony is that he calls every single one simply "guinea pig"...

Same here! Except my family does that, lol!) Once I told my dad to open a pack of frozen corn, and hes like "For who is this?" I said "Eye-I!" He's like who the heck is Eye-I? I'm like Idly! Lol, thats my piggie! xD Pretty unique names though.
