Well the good news is we did Stewies teeth for the first time ourselves the other day. Took longer then expected but we got there in the end. He tends to behave better for the veg rather then us he is a fidgety little monkey.
On the down side TIa is booked in for surgery on Monday. As she has developed a lump the size of a golf ball on her neck. Because she is pretty long haired it is hard to see, I had her out and clipped nails beginning of last week and did not notice it. But when it came to the cage clean I noticed this lump :-( took her to the vets straight away and they took samples of what was inside it. Unfortunately it was not as simple as an abscess and they are still unsure what it is. So the only option is to remove it if possible and if not they will take a biopsy. They say it could be an infected lymph gland or a cancer in the lymph gland. :-( so it's just a waiting game at the moment. Keep your fingers crossed!
To add to the stress my other half has just been deployed abroad for a few weeks and my sister has been rushed into hospital with a life threatening infection after giving birth. That's three things gone wrong now so hoping it's the last of it. Don't think I could cope with much more especially with the other half away and a wedding to plan!!

Wow Three times the hugs for all of that! I really hope the vet finds something treatable during the surgery. I will keep all digits crossed for her. Sending healing vibes and well wishes to your poor sister, too! I hope she will be okay. Certainly more than you needed all at one time, though maybe you'll get a nice break for a while, once all of this is behind you. I hope your OH has a good deployment, no problems, and gets home soon

Unfortunately Tia was not strong enough to make it through the surgery :-( talked to the vet and he said he had removed the lump and it was then she stopped breathing. I also asked what he thought the lump was and he said it was most likely a cancerous lump that had formed on her shoulder. He also said that these types of lumps spread, so in a way it may have saved her from a life of pain and discomfort but it does not make it any easier. The rest of the piggies seem a little quiet without her. But I have been giving them plenty fuss and attention. Feel at a bit of a loss at moment. Would love the other half to be home and give me a cuddle but the joys of being a military wife to be xxx Attachment Deleted

Oh I'm so sorry about Tia, what an awful shock it must have been to get that news when you were only prepared for her going in for investigations. Perhaps she was already quite poorly and had been hiding it it if the surgery was too much for her? Doesn't make it any easier though. She's such a beautiful girl - sleep tight Tia x
Sounds like you have more than your fair share at the moment - a difficult time to have your husband away. I really hope your sister is okay?

I'm so sorry about Tia Lots of hugs I'm glad you weren't alone. As hard as it is to lose her, I think you are right that her body did what it needed to do, and there was nothing anyone else could have done. They don't tell us when they are in pain. They just soldier on. I really wish they would whine a bit more. RIP little guinea girl

Well the household is a little quieter with out Tia and the hay racks seen to empty much slower. Tia was obviously the one who ate most of the hay or the piggies are feeling a little down without their sister. They are not so active at the moment especially stewie. With all his teeth troubles he seems a little down in dumps. He is still eating at moment but not seen him at the hay rack for a while which is concerning. I have been giving him some critical care to give him a but of a boost. Let's hope that kicks in soon.
On a good note my sister is home from hospital and still recovering well. Although it's going to take a while. And the other half is home in a week. Also for two days in a row the sun is out. If anyone has followed the storms in south west England you will know why I am so happy about seeing a glimpse of blue sky and sun.

I knew things were going too well.....
I was just hand feeding stewie as he seemed down in the dumps and he suddenly fitted or choked and I lost him in my arms! That's 2 piggies in one week. Not sure I can cope at the moment, will post more later when I get my head around life at the moment xx

Hi everyone.
I am still adjusting to loosing my baby not pig stewie, seems odd that he is not with is anymore especially as he seemed to be doing so well. The other half has returned home with some doubts in his mind if he wants to spend his life with me so things pretty rocky, but I am just getting on with my life at moment looking after my two other adorable piggies and my two mutts! So let life throw at me what it wants I will try my best to survive! Xx

Oh Glittze, I'm sorry to hear life is still throwing rubbish at you - hope you and hub work things out. It must be a difficult thing relationship-wise for you both to have so much time apart - it must put strain on even the strongest of relationships at times. Glad you are feeling able to soldier on (no pun intended) and really hope things are looking up for you soon. xx
