They are a legend in their own lifetime that is for sure love. I am glad your daughter enjoyed herself too. There are probably a lot of places in Liverpool who really do rely on Beatlemania for their livelihoods.

Clover posted some pics from her trip to Liverpool, and my other friend has also posted pics. It seems the tourist dollars the Beatles brought to Liverpool have helped fund a major rejuvenation of the port/waterfront area. Definitely good for the city, which looks so much better than it did when the Beatles were there. I also can't see the point to looking at the houses where they lived. I did enjoy the general tour of the parts of Liverpool that are mentioned in the songs. Made it easier to understand the point to the songs.

I felt sympathy for the people working in the Beatles merchandise shops and other touristy places as they had Beatles music on constantly! I mean, they have loads of great songs, but I think I'd go mad listening to only them for hours a day! A small price to pay for all that's brought to the city because of them though I suppose!
We went to The Cavern Club, the club the Beatles played when they were up and coming. It's not actually the exact same place - the original was demolished so it was reconstructed a few doors down in the 70s. Still very interesting though. I can't imagine it was a pleasant place to play or watch your favourite band - it's underground, you go down quite a lot of stairs, and the air is really hot and soupy down there! We visited around lunchtime, so it must be grim when it's packed with sweaty bodies! I'm not very rock'n'roll worrying about such things, am I?!

Yes Bean love it must get tiresome even if you are a fan. Worse than listening to constant christmas music in stores for about 8 weeks before christmas! I would love to see the Cavern, where it all began, if walls could talk.

I'm sure there are a lot of people who are very glad they can't haha!
My son often gets really into a particular CD or song and will play it over and over - it drives me potty as however much I love a song, if I listen to it too much, it soon becomes tired! Luckily the CD he's playing to death at the moment has some good tunes on (Everything Everything) - I just hope he eases off playing it a little while I still feel that way!

Ha ha, it reminds me of the opening words f the record "Rock 'n' Roll I gave you all the best years of my life." He talks of buying a guitar and playing the same tune over and over. I am glad he is playing some good tunes though hunny.

Working in the Beatles shop reminds me of working retail at Christmas, with all the musak playing endlessly. I used to like Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer, but after months of hearing it every hour, every day, I just wanted to scream! It may get customers in the mood to buy, but oy!
I had a college roommate who played the Knights in White Satin album until I wanted to smash it. No other album, just that one!

Haha! I lived with a couple of people during my uni years, who would have one song they'd always put on if they'd had a bad day or were missing their boyfriend from home etc. I'd hear the first few notes and know I'd be hearing that tune 12 times then possibly staying up until the early hours providing a shoulder to lean on!
Mind you, feel sorry for my family as this is my happy song - if I'm feeling cheesed off, I find it much too hard to be miserable while this song is on!

That is what I think Piggles hun at Christmas, I feel so sorry for the people who work in shops. Wow Bean love, that is some voice and a really happy song. It is obviously a German event but he looks Latin.

I love a good yodeller! When we were visiting a family friend recently, the others told her I liked yodelling, as in listening to it. She thought they meant that I actually yodelled myself and was egging me on to perform! Not that we don't all sing along in the car sometimes, but no one else should have to listen to that!

It's not easy. I've tried it several times, but not luck. That's funny about trying to get you to yodel, Bean

I quite fancy the idea of having a few lessons and seeing if I could do it?! But listening to people doing it well is far more enjoyable! Back to The Beatles, this sweet shop made The Beatles out of jelly beans for their display which we thought was fun (although my son thought John Lennon looked more like Harry Potter than himself!).

That is really good Bean hunny but I can see what you mean about John Lennon. Let us know if you start lessons.
