We went to see Finding Neverland with Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet. It was really nice, a little too mushy in parts and very sad at the end. Dustin Hoffman was also in it. I really like Johnny Depp, he can play so many different roles. Kate Winslet still looks very pretty without much make up.
I'm enjoying going to the cinema every week, hope we don't run out of films lol
We watched The Grudge over weekend, a couple of times my popcorn nearly went flying. Its funny watching a film like that because everyone jumps at the same time lol
ps I've just read my first sentence again, sounds like we are mixing with the stars lol

I think this one might be a little sappy for me lol.
Did you see the American version of 'The Grudge' or the original Japanese one (think it's called 'Ju-on: The Grudge')? I want to see them both, but especially the Japanese one. I'll have to get brave though - Japanese horror films are the only ones that properly scare me, and I don't want to wee myself in public lol.

I've seen both, in someways the Japanese one is better, maybe it had more of an impact because I'd seen it first. Both are very creepy, especially when she crawls down the stairs ..shivers. In the American film, it explains more about how it all started. Are you going to see it?

I will eventually - we just haven't had the chance to go much recently so I'm a bit behind!
Have you seen Ring (the Japanese one, not the American version which is pretty poor in comparison)? That is one scary film!
Ju-on: The Grudge is actually the third in the series of Ju-on films, so a lot of people are finding that certain things aren't well explained. They've not had the other two out at the cinema though before this one though have they, so that's a bit silly really.

Yes I've seen both versions of The Ring. Actually we first found out about it from Jenna. Someone had brought a video into school (American version) and the teacher did'nt mind them all watching it! Jenna only saw 3/4's of it so she wanted me to buy it as she really liked it. Jenna knows its not real and says "its cool" lol. I still hide behind a cushion with anything like that lol.
I know of The Ring and The Grudge, whats the other one called Treen?

The Ring films ('Ring', 'Ring 2' and 'Ring 0') are a separate series of films to the Ju-on ones. The Ju-on ones are a bit confusing actually, as the two Ju-on films that preceded 'Ju-on: The Grudge' are what that film was based on, rather than being a simple sequel. People say that if you see the two before it, it all makes much more sense, but 'Ju-on: The Grudge' is supposed to be a sort of remake encompassing all you need to know from the previous films too, so it can stand alone. And there's 'Ju-on: The Curse' coming after it.
Battle Royale is another great Japanese horror film. The basic premise is that a load of school children are dumped on an island and told that after three days, only one survivor may remain. If there are any more than that then the whole island gets blown up. So they have to all kill each other off to try and make sure that they're the one who lives. Aaaaah my school wasn't like that lol.

Oh thanks for all the info Treen, I still call it The Ring, not Ring The Curse!, I'll look out for it. Kathy and I were having a mess around the other night, thinking up new names..The Fluff...The Biscuit lol, just having a few silly moments ;D Is Ju-on Ring 2 out yet? Yes I've seen Battle Royale and really liked it, I know kids need discipline, but thought that went abit far lol

The American version is called 'The Ring', so you haven't just made it up lol.
'Ju-on: The Curse' was made a few years ago, but I don't think it's out at the cinemas yet. I think it was quite a low budget film, so they might remake it before it hits the big screen. It's all a bit confusing really lol.
Have you seen 'The Eye'? Think that's another series and they're supposed to be great horror films. Apparently lined up for US remakes too.
Lol are you and Kathy going to make one of those films - you have got a camcorder haven't you?!

We saw 'The Grudge' last night - it's good isn't it, and I'm surprised the seats are still attached to the floor in the cinema as the whole row lurched whenever there was a jumpy bit lol. There were lots of couples with the girls with their heads buried in their boyfriend's arms for half of it lol.
We actually thought we were going to see the Japanese one 'Ju-on: The Grudge' but it turned out they'd listed it wrong on the website! But we would have seen this one anyway, so didn't really mind. It seemed to be more in the style of Japanese horror films too (it had the original director didn't it?). I though 'The Ring' Americanised it too much, and took away what made the original so chilling.
Anyway, it was good and I do like a good scary film!

Oh I'm glad you've seen it Treen and yes there was a few jumpy bits Yes it was made with the help of the same director. I hope they make more of this type of film, its not just because they are scary but they have a good storyline to.

League of Gentlemen is also good Is it really? As in this one www.metacritic.com/video/titles/leagueofextraordinarygentlemen/ (that's a great review site btw - it pools all the different reviews together so you can see all the different opinions and average ratings)? We've avoided it as it had terrible reviews - I know they're not always right but it did get a panning! We just saw 'Big Fish' and we really liked that. Not usually a Ewan McGregor fan, but this was good.

Glad you liked Finding Neverland aL ;D It was quite serious at times wasn't it. Johnny Depp is lovely, the role really suited him.
