I've been wanting to do that but our scales are small and it doesn't like it when I add the box on. It just reads error, so I think new scales are on the shopping list!
She sure is bless her! She's a little diva. She will happily sit on my lap and eat a piece of veg. I think she just prefers sitting next to me than cuddling me.
Oh dear! I can imagine! The thought of trying to clip Ambers nails puts me on edge. If I hold her too long she squeaks at me in protest...

Our Lacey-Jane is a little diva too, she will talk to you and move around when on your lap where as dear Mr Darcy just sits there. I cannot decide whether he is enjoying it or not, he talks so I think he is, I hoe so LOL!!

I don't have a diva, but Morty is my drama king. When I try to clip his nails, you'd think I was torturing him the way he carries on. Momo is actually quite calm. She just doesn't like standing on three legs while I try to focus on her nail. Mia is very calm about it. I think my Zippy was the diva, even if diva is technically female. He told me all about everything and anything.

I love it when you hold them and they start talking, if only we could understand, I think they are telling us something very specific. All our piggies have been all right when it comes to trimming claws but we don't do it anymore because neither of us can see properly.

That's my problem, Jo. My eyes just can't focus very easily on something as small as a guinea pig nail. I'm afraid of getting the finger or toe, so try to clip the nails monthly, just taking off the tip. It's not easy.

I just worry I'll cut them too short. When they wiggle I get nervous.
I think I'll take them for a nail trim on Monday. They're currently wheeking for their tea. Demanding little piggles!

No three piggles love, we haven't trimmed claws for a long time as as the nurse does it and not the vet, the cost is reasonable. I panic too hun when they start to wriggle and sometimes if they are really frightened they would start to wheek and that went through me, so no, it s a regular trips to see Uncle Dean (head nurse)

I'll get the girls weighed and double checked of what sex they are. It sounds really silly, but I had doubts about Amber and was convinced she was Amboar!
Her rear end looked like it was developing 'swellings' shall we say! I got paranoid so tried to lift her myself and see but she wriggled and screamed at me so it was a tough job and I didn't want to stress her out and lose any trust I've gained with her.
I would of thought that if she was a boar we would of had babies by now. So I'm not too worried anymore.
Amber gets wider by the day! She's growing so fast at the moment. Little Mabel is still fairly tiny but not enough to worry about. I think she's generally a petite piggy.

I've had a couple of runts, and they never get very big. My Zippy was just 5 when he died, but the vet thinks Momo is quite a bit older. I've had them for several years, so I know they are all at least 5. No idea how old they were when I got them. Sounds as if your little ones are doing great

I love ther little cute round bodies and bums. When our piggies are stretched out and relaxing, it is surprising how big they actually are.

That is true Jo! Amber often does the lying flat position. Me and my mum call her little pancake!

Hehe! They went to the vet for their nail trim today. Both were very well behaved. I got her to confirm that they were both girls. They are! After my doubts about Ambers gender...

It was a lot less stressful than imagined. Amber squealed and protested when the vet first picked her up. But once I held her whilst the vet did the clipping she calmed down a little. Mabel sat in my arms so still. She was no trouble at all. They've just enjoyed some floor time and followed me to the fridge for their tea. So I think I am forgiven.

Oh bless them, ours used to get frightened when we had held them for a while which s why we now go and see nursy and it is all done nice and quickly.

Glad they had a nice tidy up and are definitely both girls - eek!
Incidentally, on the scales, if I start my scales up with a box on them, it gives me an error message. But if I start them up then put the box on and reset them, they're happy. Just thought I'd mention it in case that's the issue with your scales - before you buy any new ones!

Ah thank you! I'll have to try it. The vet said she isn't worried that Mabel is a little bit smaller than Amber. She felt her all over and said she isn't over or underweight for her frame. She's just right

When we had Holly's claws clipped last week, she also had a good checkover. I thought she was looking a bit puddeny but the vet says she is fine, I was very pleased.
