Hubby and I chickened out on repairing the cracked tanks so instead got a much bigger tank for the tropicals and moved the goldfish into the tank the tropicals had been in.
The new tropical tank holds 190 litres and is a corner tank so deep. Really pleased with it. As the poor goldfish were swimming around in a tiny bowl, since their tank cracked apart and Sacha cat already tried to fish them out of the bowl we had to move the fish into the new tanks urgently. I'm worried how quickly the tanks will cycle and hoping we don't lose a lot of fish now but was able to save quite a bit of water from the tropical tank to set up the new one with plus put all the water the goldfish had been in, into their new set up so hoping that helps the cycle speed up.
In the tropical tank we have some black phantom, red and rummy nose neons, two angels and flying fox. Once tank has settled hope to add a red finned shark as my son has his heart set on one. I have kept them before so happy to get one again. I might also look into adding a freshwater red angel as very good local fish shop has them in and very hard to get. I've kept dwarf gouramis with angels before and were a good combination but I also had upside down catfish before and they do have them in fish shop I go to. I'm not sure yet how many fish will add to this tank. So need to work that out and consider what size the angels could grow to. First have to get through cycle and keep fingers crossed.
So the new tank pictures (sorry was hard to work with reflections as have lot of glass in new house) and the new goldfish set up.
