Great pictures, and only Jeannine can make icky fishness fun and interesting, lol. We had an aquarium years ago, but nothing seemed to stop the algae build up. Got to be way too much maintenance.

That is really nice...I would love to stare at fish swimming, but don't think I'd like the upkeep. You have done a wonderful job and it shows.

Great Photos! lol - fish are not icky! but they do have a protective 'slime coating'. My pond is completely overgrown with lilies and plants. I can't see any water, every now and then I can see a splash of fish color - I've been trying to sell/give away some plants, I hate just composting them. Sunday is ponds cleaning day. My inside tropical tanks is nice and clean, but boring...I need plants (ironic).

A friend of mine used to have a seperate tank inside their tank and he would catch the babies as soon as possible after they hatched to save them from being eaten.

Gorgeous fish! Do your cats like to watch them? We had a little 5 gallon tank for about a year and one of my cats would try to bat at the fish.

My cats only pay attention the the wild chipmunks outside!!! They drink out of the pond and often sleep on top of the fish tanks. They are indifferent to all other household pets; dogs, guinea pigs, pigeons, doves, fish...

I know what you mean about not wanting to compost them. I try to save everything, and usually end up wintering over a few things I should have let go. Still, I brought in a pot of flowering plants last Fall and nursed them over the winter. They never really died, and have some back fully this summer. I feel vindicated, lol, as hub kept telling me to toss them!!!

I dug out a poinsettia from my co-workers garbage, it was 3/4 dead (she always kills plants). It lived and bloomed for 4 years...then I re-potted it and it died

So sorry. Are you sure it's dead and not just suffering from transplant shock? I never had any luck with pointsettias, no matter how much I followed all the directions.

Very popular around Christmas, and supposed to live endlessly if cared for correctly. Never managed to do it right yet, so I hardly have any advice for anyone else!!!

Christmas cactus will live forever - my grandma has some that are older than me!!! Oh I forgot about the poinsettia I killed in 1998. I shouldn't have set the pot on the radiator cover, because the landlord is always cold and likes to keep the house at 80!!! RIP - I'm still haunted by the memory!
