ooooh, so lovely - i love the poor frozen flower. I have a rose that is still blooming and will be going strong long after the snow comes. It is near the dryer vent so it stays warm, I'm really afraid to move it because I don't think it would survive the reality of a cold winter!

Pretty but you can keep it! I've never hard of freezing fog! Does it cause the roadways to get slippery?

Pretty but you can keep it! I've never hard of freezing fog! Does it cause the roadways to get slippery? The Swiss Midlands are infamous for weeks of icy fog when warmer air forms a lid over the top. Between the Alps and the Jura mountains, there is nowhere for the cold air to flow away. In winter, it is often warmer and certainly sunnier up in the skiing resorts than at the foot of the Alps in places like Zurich! Thankfully, I grew up on the far side of the Jura mountains where the weather is generally much better. But this is the first time in the decade since I've lived in Britain that we had frosty fog to that extent! Especially the leading edge of the fog can cause the roads to go slippery all of a sudden and it is always advisable to adjust your speed to the conditions in order to avoid accidents.

I hate the snow when i have to go someplace! I work this Sunday and we are supposed to have a storm! One weather man says not so bad and the other weather man says its gonna snow like crazy!!! Last year I drove home in 9 inches on the main roadway! That 5 minute drive turned into 30 minutes!!!

Oh, beautiful!!! Those situations and right after a fresh snow fall are my favorite winter moments. Ice is much more devastating than snow, but so beautiful when it turns the whole countryside into crystal.

I love it when it snows, I lived in Portugal til I was 22 and we didnt have snow where I lived. Here in Holland we do sometimes get it and I love it, it is magical. Beautiful pics, magic.

There is nothing like sunshine on fresh snow or hoar...
My favourite place to be is cross country skiing in the Black Forest when all the firs are thickly snowed in... Skiing through the forest in the snow is also special because the snow muffles all the sound.
I do not like driving in the snow at all, however! Hoepfully, you won't get too much snow in that storm!!!

Oh I missed these when I was posting my snowy pics.
Looks lovely and I really like the flower and berry close ups.
We get freezing fog here every Winter as well. We live near a river and that doesn't help.

Yodelpig, I think of cross country skiing as winter canoeing. We used to canoe a lot, and it is so quiet, the animals all come to the waters edge to drink, water birds aren't disturbed. We just quietly float through it all and get to see it up close. You just quietly glide through it all.
