Hey guys!
So. Lately I've been checking a rescue site. And, I see two piggies that I'm IN LOVE with. Not such a big deal, it seems. I wish!
As you know, I just got Sage.
I have a plan that may work. I never get A's on my history test. This subject, I KNOW I will get an A...I can soooooo get an A on this test. Plus, my parents told me I HAVE to get an A.
So, My plan- I will ask my parents "If I get an A, can I get the two piggies I saw on a rescue site?".
This will just motivate me to do extra well!
You think it'll work?

Whoa!!! Piggy-itus is a dangerous condition!!! It leads to oodles and ooldes of pigs taking up all your time, space and money, until you have to move out just to house all the pigs, lol!!!
It's always nice to get new pigs, but you haven't had the Violet and Sage very long. In case your strategy doesn't work, just concentrate on learning all you can about pigs from your girls.

Hee hee hee! The piggy bug strikes again!
There is NO harm in trying! I say give it a go!
Are your parents falling for Violet and Sage? I always found the first guinea pig was the hardest to bargain for with my hubby, because once we had one, he was quickly smitten, and then more followed n.n. And asking what chores you can do around the house to showcase your responsibility doesn't hurt! What also worked for me when I was in high school and all pets entering the house had to go through my mom, was doing all sorts of chores I knew she hated doing (washing dishes and scooping litter to name a few!) with out her even asking! She was so happy I was shouldering her load she had a lot of trouble saying no lol. I also at some point wrote a little essay about all the fun and interesting things about hamsters and gave it to her, which helped me get my first critters, but she is a college professor so she may just be partial to papers lol
Best of luck! Crossin my fingers and toes for you!

Hey....maybe I should d=stay home from school....since I have piggy-itus. Haha.
The piggy bug has it's eye on me.
When I first got Violet, my parents at first were like "NO MORE GUINE PIGS!". A week after I'd had her my parents were like "Hey, you think Violet needs a friend?".
Hmmm....chores. Haven't done those in a while. What a pleasant surprise for my parents.......
My mom is a homeschool teacher...basically. She doesn't teach anyone, and I'm not homeschooled....but I do get schooled on the weekend...and I'm in GT, so anything that I write impresses her. That's how I got Violet.
Wow! The pig-bug just loves me!
The two have been there for a while....so they may be there longer...so if my parents dont say yes immeadiately...I still have a chance.
Thanks!!
EDIT We have our old excersize room dedicated to te piggies. We are still modifying it (getting out the old furniture), and making it the full 'Piggy Room'.
Also, I have to expand Violet's and Sage's cage, and that will be big enough for four. Wether or not I get the other two pigs.
Thanks!

I asked today. Annnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddddd- I think they're (my parents) are considering it!! I thought it would be a big fat "No" in my face. . This is so perplexing. Well, the parents have been more interested in the piggies...like they are part of the family. Before I got Sage, I lectured my parents on how they were herd animals. So....maybe they want a larger (well...larger than my current one) herd. I'll keep you posted. The two I want are there. A boy and a girl. The girl is 13 mos, and the boy is 6 mos. Wish me luck. More than I've somehow gotten. Thanks!!

I hope it works out. Just remember that vet bills can get expensive if a whole herd has to be treated for parasites, URI, UTI, etc. Don't work on your parents until you overextend their ability to get the pigs the vet care they need.

We have a 'pet-vet savings' jar in our house. When my dad gets paid...we put some of his pay in there. Plus, my parents have read a guinea pig book (before they let me get Violet), so they understand that they need vet care, just like dogs.
The absouloute first thing I will do...tomorrow.....expand the cage. It's only a tiny bit bigger than it should be for two.
Thanks!

The pigs are 1 yr, 1 month and 7 months. Will the age difference cause some tension?

Thanks! They are cute! *I got a B on the test* but I'm still allowed to get them. My mom is in L-O-V-E with the piggies!! She seems to be the one (besides me) who understands the pigs! . These are the last pigs I will be getting for a VERY long time...until one passes on.

The one year old is pretty much out of puberty. The seven month old is right in the middle of it, and the one month old hasn't gotten there yet, so it should work out just fine!!!

Yes! The 13 month old is precious! So is the 7 month old. The 13 month old is a cute lil' boy, and the 7 month old is a girl. She is a razorback....she looks a lil' like an abby, the shelter says she has her abby-tude moments. Ohh...they are both so cute!
I won't be getting them until July. That's when we get back from Florida, and before that...I don't want to introduce them during the busiest time of the school-year--SOL's.
But they are pretty darn cute! Just like a lot of y'all's piggys!
Thanks!

Congrats on getting new piggys! Is the male neutered though? Yes-- The shelter spay's and neuters every single one (except for very old one's, or if they can't because of complications) that omes through. My two are spayed...and since the male is neutered..I'd rather they not...lot's of needles. Thanks!
