And this is Strawberry, he's a couple months younger than Spicy and though he's a little sickly he's a sweet, brave, boy and has a great personality.

And last but not least, Shakira who I got in May of last year. She came home pregnant and had two bubbies, and if all goes well she'll have more not too long from now! ;D

Yes Opie and Shakira are getting on great. I'm a bit worried about his ability to do his little job as he's an older boar lol, but in the meantime they are really enjoying each other's companionship.

Cute pictures! Do they use the litter tray?!
Just a friendly reminder that this is a rescue friendly board. We've asked on the board description that people hold any discussions about intentional breeding and showing on other message boards.
Everyone is welcome here, and we won't be having a pop at anyone, but if you could keep those types of conversations to other boards, we'd be grateful. Thanks!

Oops, I'm sorry Treen, I didn't realize Anyway the breeding thing didn't work out. Apparently Opie was neglected pretty badly in his previous home. I think he may have maloclusion and possibly even cancer. On top of that he has two infected feet and impaction problems. I've e-mailed his owners about a possible vet trip as I don't have money to pay for it myself. Until then he is staying, he's much happier here and getting the care he needs. I'm hoping that Shakira isn't pregnant as I know some health problems can be genetic. I doubt she is as to my knowledge she wasn't in heat while with Opie - she should be going into it this Wednesday. Guess this is just God's way of saying no, this isn't for you and Shakira right now. I've pretty much made up my mind to let her get fat and chubby and have a fun, carefree life.

Good on you, Mezz! Opie is in the right place. At least you can care for him until you figure out what to do.

Oh I am sorry about Opie's problems Merry, I really hope his previous owners will help out with vetrinary fee's to make him more comfortable. All the best for Opie!!

Aww I'm sorry about all Opie's health problems Merry, I hope you can get him to the vet somehow. I think you definitely made the right decision not breeding him given all those problems. Will he be able to stay with you?
Good luck to the little chap - I'll keep my fingers crossed for him.

If she's not able to keep him or take him to a vet I offered to adopt him if transport can be arranged. Just a thought. I did go get the one in LA and thought that would never come about ... someone offered the use of a new car and free gas. maybe I should ask him if he knows of anyway to get a pig from FL to CA.

Oh that's great news - so hopefully he should be having a nice new home and getting his problems attended to either way.

I think Max is heading over the Rainbow Bridge at 5pm today ... we'll see after I go to the vet. (That would free up space for another one but don't know if the guy would spring for cross-country transport.)

I'm keeping him for now but if it doesn't work out for him to stay for good, that would be great Kathy, if we can get transport. You'd have to post lots of piccies though, I've gotten quite attached to the little fellow
