Every guinea pig message board has its own flavour, and Clover and I have decided that we'd like this board to be rescue friendly. We'd therefore appreciate it if you could keep discussions about intentional breeding and/ or showing to other message boards and refrain from posting links to websites promoting either, including their own. If you feel there is important health information on a breeding/showing website that would help another member, please clear it with a member of staff before posting it or simply send it to them via pm.
People who do breed and/or show are still perfectly welcome here, no heads will be bitten off! And anyone seeking advice on health issues related to either topic will be treated fairly, provided they don't seem to be promoting either activity in their pursuit of information.
We are happy for people to post pictures or use avatars of their pets who are a result of their own breeding (adults or babies) but we ask that you didn't make announcement threads when intentionally bred babies that you intend to keep as pets are born. Please instead incorporate them in to existing threads about your pets. If you are breeding for show, or intend to sell or give away the babies, then posting about them here would not be considered appropriate.
Could anyone talking about pets they have bred, or who they show, please use common sense with regards to these guidelines and not go in to any detail about the breeding or showing side of things so as to invite discussion. This includes why you chose to breed a guinea pig, talking about who the father of any babies was or mentioning any visits to shows or titles your guinea pig may have won at a show. If you wish to discuss breeding or showing with anyone, please do it via email or private message. Just as we don't want to see people promoting breeding and showing, neither do we wish to see anyone harangued for doing so.
Please let a member of staff know immediately if you feel anyone is ignoring these guidelines. Any members continuing to breach these rules after an initial warning may have their posts on these subjects edited or deleted to ensure that Wheekers remains a peaceful and rescue friendly forum.
Thank you for your cooperation!
