Heya everyone. Well...they are finally home at last. I collected 3 gorgeous 7 week old female gerbils about 2 hours ago and they are now settling in their tank - large Duna style (just whilst I finish saving up for their proper one). The first female is a black/white pied, second, I think is either a Lilac or Dove with pink eyes and the third is Cream or White with pink eyes (not sure of the colouring yet). I will be posting pictures on here tomorrow - just letting them settle into their new Duna first. They've had quite a trip coming home with me, but we managed it. I met my "friend" outside the local garden centre and she practically dumped them (without a box or carrier) in my hands and ran off!!! *insert angry emoticon here!* Needless to say, the poor mites were terrified from being handled like that. But I managed to grab a smallish cardboard box and then walked back home - which was a miles trip lol, but we did it and now they are cooling off in their new tank. Don't worry - the "friend" is now an ex- friend lol. Will post pictures tomorrow - I want to get them calm first. Mweekie!

Woohoo, and can't wait for gerbiltures!!! That friend obviously knows nothing about gerbils, or probably cares, so they are so lucky to be with you. I think the walk home helped bond them to you, as you are the one who rescued them from that awful person, and kept them safe all the way home. Amazing how much that means to a little furry, especially a scared little furry!!!

Thanks Roz and Laurie Laurie - yep I think you may be right. I couldn't believe it when she just dumped them in my hands as they were with no carrier or box. Anyway - she's not my friend anymore as I dumped her there and then lol. Anyway - moving on...I've finally chosen names for them Isabella (Bella) - black/white pied Esme - cream or white - will let you know when I've figured out which one lol Alice - lilac or dove - as above ^^^ lol Can you guess which books I've chosen the names from Mweekie!

Are you a Twilight fan by any chance, lol! Great names (and books) So glad you rescued the gerbils and look forward to pics. Gerbils are so much fun to watch; I loved them when I had them years ago.

Hey everyone. Just to say that the girls are doing very well, but still are quite nervous about new things and don't like to be handled all that much, but then being gerbils, they do like to explore more than actually being cuddled lol. I'm going to be getting them their new home soon, hopefully in the next few weeks, thanks to my new job Will update soon. Sorry I haven't been around much - been really busy and also helping a friend deal with a crisis at the moment. Mweekie!

Hey everyone Well I haven't updated this for a long while, but have explained why in another thread. The girls are doing fine. Except Bella has got it in her head to fight with Esme quite a bit of the time, and so Esme is pretty scraped up at the moment. I would have separated her, from the others, but Alice loves Esme and Bella, and always seems to come out from the tunnels whenever Esme is around, so I have decided to let be for a while, unless anything completely serious does occur, which hasn't yet. Bella only seems to scuffle with Esme whenever I am in the room and they are entering adulthood now, so it's normal for them to find a hierachy. They all sleep together fine and I often catch Esme gently grooming Bella, so I'm sure it's OK. Alice is definitely the shyest out of the trio, and always hides whenever I open the cage, normally scattering wood shavings as she goes under lol. Bella, as I said, can be a bully, but is really sweet at the same time. Esme is just a total walkover, and loves being handled, always being at the front of the tank whenever it's breakfast or playtime, normally alongside Bella. Anyway, going to go and update Sammie's thread now Mweekie!
