I don't even know what dippy means and I've won all those awards before anyway. I was wearing odd socks today, that's all!

I do have matching socks on today, but I have been known to wear odd ones before you know! My work socks are all black and have a colour on the toes and heel. I have some which are pink on the heel and toe and some which are an orangey colour, and I think the mister matched them up wrong one day! Maybe it was a ploy so I didn't ask him to put the washing away again! lol

When I get cold feet, I wear hub's socks, same size, he has small feet. His socks all match up. He has 30 pairs of black, 10 grey and 10 beige, all the same, can't miss even being half awake. I'm so sensible it's sickening

Gosh, I am a uk 5 and the mister is a uk12! I have no chance wearing his socks! We got the mister all plain black socks as he was getting fed up wearing odd socks! lol
Who started this thread, it really has caused some great conversation! It had to be the dippiest member of wheekers, right!? lol

It seriously has, hasn't it?! This is great.
I used to have all these ankle socks but I've lost about half of them and I seem to only have one survivor from each pair. Ankle socks are a really small sock type, you know? Easy to lose.

What is the criteria for odd socks? miss-matched? not matching the outfit? or just strange? I work in Corporate America (stuffy suits) and always have some sort of knee socks on when I wear skirts! It's cold in the building...burr; My favorite are the pink argyle with skulls knee socks, but I am also fond of stripes, polka-dots, and argyle. Today my socks are black with aqua argyle patterned dashes. Knee socks are always on my x-mass list and the weirder the better!

I had those long socks which went above the knee. Stupid cow I was, I bought them for having warm legs at work wearing a skirt, yet the guys at work couldn't pick their jaws of the floor when I had 'm on. I only had 'm on once at work, lol, because of it.

This thread was mainly about mis-matched socks but other types of sock discussion certainly won't be discriminated against here.
I don't think I know you well enough to be sending xmas presents tho!

lol - but pigjes, how short was the skirt?!?!? I do like (and still have) leg warmers...perhaps it brings back fond memories of my 80's childhood!

lol - but pigjes, how short was the skirt?!?!? Haha good point, Pretty Woman! Ski socks are lovely and warm, those paired with a pair of knee boots certainly keep the winter drafts off your ankles.

Hey, no sad smilies. That's cheating. So, did anyone else think this thread was about Odd Sock the guinea pig? I should have known better since the title is plural.

Also because it wasn't in the guinea pig section.
That's cheating but it's okay - everyone wins with odd socks anyway!

Phew that is a relief!
I also thought of an odd sock game. Put all your socks in a pile, and then pick two out with your eyes shut, do this with all of the socks and put them away in your drawers. Then you will have to wear lots of combinations of odd socks everyday! See everyday can be an odd sock day really!

One more vote forTeebers and the dippiest member award, being a major candidate for it annually, myself.
I gave up on the whole odd sock thing with hub and did what Pigjes did. Now all his black socks are interchangable, all his brown, etc. Mine are a whole 'nother story, as I try to match mine to my blouses and sweaters, stupid, stupid, stupid. That means I have a whole draw of odd socks. I'm waiting for the sock gremlins to return the other half of each pair so I can wear them again.
KJ, I agree the skirt was bound to be more of an issue than the socks. Good try, though, blaming it on the socks, lol. Actually, that style came into fashion a year or so ago. There was a pic of Jennifer Anniston on the cover of one of those celeb magazines, and she was wearing a fanny-cover skirt and thigh-hi stockings. Yep, definitely eye catching those thigh-highs, especially with the lace and ribbon borders around the tops.

What's the deal with sexual attraction, really? We're all such apes, deep down!
Guys seriously I didn't make this thread just to win awards (even if it IS good enough to be an award-winning thread.. ha, ha..)
Also guys in the time since I started this thread my previously mentioned odd socks have now all apparently gone walkabout. No, seriously! I have no idea where they've gone. If I still had the power I'd probably close the thread at this point.
