My two gorgeous girls Lydia (white) and Blanche (brown) who just started living together on Sunday! Lydia is a bad tempered lady but Blanche is refusing to give up and this morning I found them in the same pigloo which is definatly progress. It's making me so happy to see Blanche popcorning around now she has company.

Hi! your girls are beautiful!
Lydia is obviously the top sow in your pairing and the bad temper is the inevitable dominance behaviour that all guinea pigs show when they settle together. Guinea pigs are group animals. Establishing a hierarchy is vital for them, whether there are two guinea pigs or twenty!

Sounds as if you have a great match there. One very dominant, and one who doesn't really care who's boss. Don't be surprised if the dominance flares up periodically. Those with dominance complexes seem to regularly need to reestablish dominance, even if no threat exists.
You're girls are beautiful!

Thanks everyone! Yes, definatly think that Lydia is the boss although Blanche occasionaly steals a green bean from her and runs away then Lydia just stands there staring as if she can't believe the cheek of it! Haha. I just love pigs so much, I didn't realise how chatty they are and how loving the can be if you treat them well. X

It is really funny when they take something out of the other one's mouth and yes as you say Jen bonjovi love, for a moment they are to shocked to react, then he takes the food back again. It is so funny to watch.
I see another Jon Bon Jovi fan.

Bon Jovi fan here, too! He owns an arena football team from Philadelphia. Not interested in football, but nice to see him sometimes!
Mia is my food thief. She'll steal anything from anyone! I'll have to try the green beans after I clean the cage today!!!

Hi Jenbonjovi,
Your girls are cutiepies! Great names too! Glad they are getting along!
They are sooooo full of personality aren't they! Non-piggie people just don't realize how charming & cheeky these little monkeys are!
Enjoy life with your girls they are sure to give you many smiles!
