hello all! so my name is kailey,im a dog groomer in training and a pet sitter. i somehow always end up saving some critter or chasing some stray. as for small animals i have had rats, chinchillas, ferrets, rabbits and hedgehogs so far, and everything from pigeons to pitbulls:)all of them lived out long great lives. My turtle came to me from people that had him in such a small take he couldn't turn around. My last rat came from someone that had her in a hamster cage only eating pasta:( both of them are now on the best diet possible and have huge enclosures.needless to say making animals happy is my life, hobby and passion.
On to the piggys.Today a friend called and as always someone is moving and is going to let there pets go loose! it was 2 male guinea's they said they had for 2 years, they no longer wanted them because they "stink" which is absurd. i have the funds and experience with other animals i thought i would be a much better owner for these poor guinea's.When i saw how they were living i was in shock, they were in a tiny 18inch cage together, pine bedding completely soak in pee and poo and they were trying to dig in it but couldnt:( no house to go in,no hay,it was very sad, they deserved better.i got them home and made there life much better asap,we went to the store got carefresh bedding, oxbow feed and hay,the other cage i have is 40inch long.
right now im learning as time goes by and having stopped researching since they got here...same as every time i do this with a animal lol i find a forum and soak up as much info as possible. i have them separated because of aggressive behavior as im still learning and posted in the behavior section to ask more about this whole thing.they got some veggies(got those rarely in old home) and are resting from the exciting day.i plan on buying/building a c+c cage this week and were gunna have a wellness check up at the vet just to be safe:) here is yevguinea(blond) who my bf named lol and the black one is not named yet since im indecisive lol.any names ideas?the black and white one is missing a nail, not sure what happened there but its not gunna grow back.he also has 2 small white markings above his eye that look just like horns lol.im already in love with them:)here are some pics, btw are there toes supposed to be dark like that or do they need a foot bath?i know the black and white one had the colored skin but the blond one has pink skin but dark feet...these pics are from a phone sorry for the quality.i look forward to learning more about these amazing little animals:)
