Just a quick reminder that the last week of October, first week of November, are especially dangerous times for black cats, and sometimes for any small, black animal unfortunate to cross paths with bad people. Even though Halloween and Bonfire Night are on specific dates, many people celebrate for a prolonged period, and sadly, pets suffer.
Keep black cats, and dogs inside during those celebrations, and if possible, move outdoor, caged pets closer to the house or where their cages can be lighted during the night. Nothing sends the idiots packing like a bright light to help identify them.
Have happy holidays!!!

Good advice.
And for Bonfire Night, if you hear about a local display, keep your pets in that night - fireworks certainly make a racket these days, I think they scare a lot of people now, let alone animals!

Don't forget about the black bunnies too! There was a black stray cat I was trying to take in, but I have not seen him in a few weeks

Sadly, while black is the color of choice for Halloween, people who will hurt animals for fun don't really care about the color, just the availability. So it's best to keep all animals off the streets, even out of unprotected yards, until the monsters are gone.

they will never be able to go outside... thats ok, my meowsers are insiders, but the buns live outside!!! thank goodness for 10 foot privacy fences!!! I have heard of people also doing mean things to white cats!!! As a new owner of an adorable mostly white cat I was shocked to learn this information. Maybe the brown splochs are enough to detour any evil doers away from my "white kitty". I'll sick my Yellow, Black, and Blue dogs on you if you try to hurt my black, white or red (think that covers all the colors) fur babies!

Our kitties will definately be kept in; bunnies are always indoors anyway but I do worry about the little ones out there whose owners basically don;t care. As for the ill treatment on bonfire night I would like to tie a lighted firework to them and see how they like it!!!!!!
Hugs

Wish these 'celebrations' didn't bring out the worst in some people, but it's as if once they start running in packs, watch out We always kept all of our animals inside on Halloween, and we lived in rural areas. Just better safe than sorry.
