Hi! My name is WhistlePig and new to the forums. I'm so glad to join! I LOVE LOVE LOVE guinea pigs, rats and fish. I have three goldfish in a 125 gallon, 1 guinea pig(waffles) and 1 cat. BTW, it says that my username is: 'whistlepig'. How come it isn't capitalized? I capitalized it when I registered.... Piggy lives in a 4x1 C&C with a 1x2 loft. AND, yes, I know, the cage is too small. I'm working on making a 2x3. But I need to find the space. It's hard to find space when you have a small house!

Hi and welcome!
Waffles is very cute! I am glad that you are going to make him a bigger cage. It is a pity that you are so short on space because guinea pigs are are herd animals and should ideally have company of their own kind.
PS: I don't know what happened with your username; I have to leave that to a more technically experienced mod.

Hello and welcome! Waffles is gorgeous, but I'm a bit biased toward piggies! Try creating a second level in your cage, no more than 6 inches higher than the main level, for added space. Maybe an inexpensive plastic or wood step stool, something like that. Put the food on the upper level, and Waffles will get extra exercise jumping up to eat and drink. He'll also have the whole main level for play, exercise space.
You can put hay in a holder on the main level or in a raised container to provide more space on the main level. Pigs need space to run, popcorn, play, imagine, etc. Once you get Waffles a friend, they will do piggy trains and all sorts of things!

A warm welcome love, your little Waffles is adorable; very similar to my Lolly.
