Yes, I'm still looking for the best hay solution for us!
The pigloos were treated with great suspicion at first, but they love them now. Definitely need another place to keep hay though as with them using them as toilets too, it quickly spoils. Think I will make/ buy some kind of rack to sit over the litter tray.
The only downside with these pigloos is that the tops are curved so the boys can't jump on top of them - Josh in particular loves to jump on things. But as he often does it as part of his 'wind up Cadders' routine (he'll get Cadders into a hormonal frenzy, then leap just out of his reach while still purring swaying his bottom around) I'm watching them to see how it affects their interactions - might even be for the better!

I cut back doors in my pigloos and generally turn everything into a multi use item. I haven't used the pigloos for quite a while, as they block the cool air from the a/c, but will probably use them this winter.

Although they still have the odd spat, the boys have been much less rumbly lately days and we've even caught them snuggled up in the same pigloo together a few times - even though there are two of the pigloos and other hiding places to nestle. Couldn't believe my eyes the first time!

I've seen pictures of snuggling pigs, but mine have never done it. That seems like really good boar bonding. There will always be the odd challenge and rumbling

I give it a good brush and loads does come off, but I can't get it all off. I just have to be careful to wipe round inside the machine after I've done their bedding so the next wash doesn't get residual hairs on! We've started using a hayrack with a tray underneath, and that cuts down massively on the amount of hay I have to get off anyway.
As they're only weeing in the litter tray and pigloo, what to use underneath hasn't been such an issue. I started with newspaper, moved to a bath sheet, but now the weather isn't any good for drying outside I'm just going to use paper again for now. Although the fleece dries in a flash, the big towels take much longer. I have a couple of people saving newspaper for me, so it's free and I can just chuck it in the compost heap after.
The u-haul pads look do look good though - I'd definitely be considering those if we were looking for a more absorbant and odour controlling solution.
Since we got the pigloos, because they can move them around quite easily (the trays I used before were firm in the back corners), they are pooing all over the cage again. It's easy to do a quick sweep though and they enjoy their interior design so I haven't thought about securing them in place. If they start weeing everywhere I might think about wedging them in place though, as having organised wee spots makes things much easier!
I'm so glad they're getting on better though. There was a point (I think things escalated initially when they moved into the C&C cage as it caused excitement and was new turf to lay claim to) where I was seriously considering if they would just be happier if they had the old snippy snippy and got girlfriends instead. Although they still have moments, they get along well for most of the time which is very nice to see! (Of course now I've just said that they've moved from happily chomping hay side by side to chattering at each other haha!)

Morty and Mia have their moments. I think any couple who spend a lot of time together in close quarters have issues periodically.
I use the dust brush attachment on the vacuum cleaner wand. I just run it back and forth over the fleece, and it picks up most of the hair.
SiLamb, buy the $14.95 quilted blanket that is blue. I really like it as cage padding, and it's thick enough to pad against edges and hard things.

It is the same with any couple Piggles hun, even if you love each other to bits you are going to have the odd disagreement.

Bunnies do that too; if they are happy and relaxed they will lie with their little leggies extended at the back or even roll over on to their backs.

I love when they sprawl out all comfy and relaxed. My bunny, Freddy, and his son, Little Bun, used to come into the kitchen and flop on the floor, usually where we had to step over them The pigs have flopped to the extent I woke them to make sure they were still alive. It was not well received

It can be alarming to a new piggy or bunny owner, when they flip over like that it does look as if they have died. I am sure they do it to keep us on our toes LOL!!

Not only is Momo 100% back, but she started wheeking at me. Apparently, I need to spend time with her before I start cleaning Morty and Mias condo, or it's grounds for being told off. She used to just chew things she wasn't supposed to chew. Now she puts her hands on the cage side, and yells at me Morty and Mia caught on quickly, and now they complain loudly, if I take too long cleaning Momos cage, before giving them treats for entertaining me so well while I did all the work.
