Hello my dear friends
I am just letting you know that we are collecting a companion for Binky tomorrow. We were going to keep him as an only bun because we are so very seldom out together but since Tilly our cat had to be put to sleep, he is missing having another furry to cuddle up to. Her name is Holly, which I think is an omen and she is apparently adorable and not a bit shy. We are getting her from a friend who owns an animal sanctuary tomorrow morning and I am so excited.
I was a little concerned in case Binky would go off me because he is so attached at the moment. When I put this concern to other bunny friends of mine, those who had people-loving bunnies said it will make no difference, Yes, he will bond with the other bunny which is what we want, but will still be as loving to his humum and hudad. Unfortunately I do not have a digital camera at the moment so I can’t post any piccies. Her photo is on one of the forums and she is beautiful. Anyway, I will let you all know how it goes.
Lots of love
Jo xx

Oooh how exciting! Holly sounds gorgeous and I'm sure you will make her feel very welcome in her lovely new home - can't wait to hear an update when she arrives, what a lucky little bun she is and I hope she and Binky hit it off straight away.

Wonderful!!! I hope they bond quickly, so he can be totally happy again. While it's wonderful for them to love us, it's best for them to have a friend of their own species, too. What breed is she? I can google a picture

Hello my dear friends and thank you for your posts
Just a little update on Holly but it as turned out to be a sad day for us too. Mrs Lolly Cuddle-Hugs one of our guinea piggies had to be put to sleep this afternoon. She had completely lost the use of her legs and nothing could be done. I introduce one little life and lose another, we are both very distressed but I still want to give you a update on Holly. As soon as she was home we put her in a large pen so that the two of them could just say hello. At first she completely ignored him and went straight to her hay and had a really good feed and then a good drink. She nosed him through the bars once and then she just returned to eating her hay, completely relaxed, but really treating Boo as if he wasn’t there. As all seemed to go well so we let them have a little time together, staying very close and ready to separate them. There was an awful skirmish and we just stepped in quickly. They then bit each other’s noses between the bars which I think shocked them both as is it unlikely that either of them had been bitten by one of their own kind before. However it calmed things down and they left each other alone for a while. She is a Rex 3piggles love and I will try and get you a pcture of her, it maybe stll on the Happy Hoppers forum. I cannot do it, I have no digital camera.
Holly is delightful; she is so laid back and friendly; she loves nose rubs and comes up to us for a stroke and nothing fazes her. When we do fuss her though, we fuss Boo at the same time when they are n the same room and when we fuss Boo, she has a little stroke too. She is a great little eater and she loves her hay. After they had their scrap, where as most buns would be in the corner looking scared, she just went over to her food bowl and had an eat LOL!! She doesn’t even mind being picked up and she will snuggle into you. She loves exploring where as Binky however didn't. When I swapped them around and she went into my bedroom whilst Binks was the living room, she was jumping all over and off and on the bed investigating. I sat with her and she stayed on the bed too and rolled onto her back. It filled my heart with joy to see it and it wasn’t the first time she had done it. I do so hope this is going to work eventually as she had found her way well and truly into our hearts and I couldn’t be without her now. I will keep you all updated and thank you much for your wanting to hear all about her. Lots of love Jo xxx

I am so sorry about Miss Lolly Cuddle-Hugs. It's never easy to let them go, even at the worst of times. We know it will happen, but it doesn't get any easier. So many hugs I am so glad Holly was there to help make you feel happy. Nothing helps neutralize the worst of the pain in our hearts, than other furries giving us love and laughter.

Oh Jo, I'm so sorry to hear about Mrs Lolly Cuddle-Hugs - how very, very sad, especially on a day you were expecting would bring your family so much happiness. Sleep tight little lady xxx
I'm so glad Holly is settling in nicely and has taken to you so well (how could she not?!). I'm glad that on the day your heart took a bit of a bruising, Holly was there to help heal it.

I think my Morty pig is part Rex, along with parts of a lot of other things. He weighs 5 pounds, is huge, and has one wisp of long hair like a tail. He is a true mutt

Thank you for your lovely posts honies and for your kindness with regard too loosing Lolly. We still miss her very much and she was very special. Noothing ever really prepared us for the loss of a baby.
Holly and Binky have bonded already which is very rare indeed. When we first brought her home we put a grill between them and each one bit the other rather hard. However after this they started to kiss each thers' noses and so we let them say hello properly whist we were present. There was a bit of a spat and we separated them again. However later on more kissing took place and now they are together all the time. They are doing binkies and rolling over and are so totally happy and I am so pleased. I am still worried about my bond wth Binks though, I hope he will still snuggle up to me.
I have looked on the site you very kindly put in place for me 3piggles love and it is really difficult to tell but she looks mostly like a Red or a Lynx. You think of Rex buns as being large but she is so tiny.
Thank you all so much for your kind interest, it means very much to me and I will keep you updated.
Love Jo xx

8-|Piggies .......Morty pig weighs 5lbs, that's big! Please send a photo when you get round to it. Isn't it lovely Jo that Holly and Binky are kissing each others noses, like wee eskimo's, they will take your mind off (but not the love away) Lolly. Xx

Thank you my darlings for your kind comments and thank you 3piggles for saying she is beautiful. I think so obviously but I am biased LOL!! She is very small, smaller infact than Binky Boo and I must admit before I had her, I thought she was going to be huge becauses Rexes tend to be.
It is lovely Margaret honey to see them together. We had a bit of trouble yesterday when he was giving her a lot of unwanted attention. She went into my bedrom because Binky won't venture on the slippery floor. There I am afraid she stayed but today, he is just sitting very close to her and it is adorable.
Another thing happened which is the best christmas present I could have had. A couple of times Binks has snuggled up to me the way he used to and it has just made my christmas. I will admit it was when Holly wasn't on the bed but he still does it and I am so chuffed.
Thank you my dear friends for all your interest and I will keep you updated.
Love and hugs
Jo

I didn't think he would totally go over to the furry side, but I did figure he would have to be careful how he shared his affections. Can't upset the lady friend, after all :)Glad you got some cuddle

Thank you my darlings. Sorry Margaret love, I didn't answer your queston. Lolly was in her 9th year.
I know what you mean 3 piggies about affection being shared, I always fuss them together, never one without the other and no, we cannot have Holly getting jealous LOL!!
Hugs
Jo xx
