I woke up yesterday and found that Archie was dead at the bottom of his tank. Poor little thing,he didn't live long and I am very upset.
Thankyou for your posts regarding him but I won't be getting anoother one. I always get so upset when any of my babies leave me and it is no exception with little fellas like these.
Hugs

Thank you my darlings. I was told that they lived for a few months and breed well. However, I have since found out that their life span, for this particular leafie, is only 2 weeks. Still, I am glad I had him and I hope he was happy during the time he spent wth me, he was certainly loved.
I am getting some Katydds soon and in spring, I am going to breed mothies.

Hello Margaret love.
Katydids are a type of bush cricket love, they have very long legs and can hop for England. Luckily I am getting them from the same friend who is in the know and she will help me a little at a time. Yes, I do remember something about Bean rearing mothies and talking of the kits but lucky for me, my pal will supply me with the set up and cocoons etc. Can't wait for furry pillars and mothies.

Thank you so much M&TC and Margaret loves, thank you for your kind words with regard to my little Archie, they are much appreciated. I asked someone else who said that leafies should live for 9 months at least, so I am really wondering what I did wrong.
I am looking into Katydids but they can not only hop for England but fly too. This worries me because they will only have my bedroom to fly in and there are many places they could hide behind which, without a lot of bother, would be hard to move. I love these little things which is why I am worried about their well being and many places d not answer me when I ask for advice, so I will just wait and see. I don't want the poor ltitle things to fly around my bedroom and get stuck somewhere. I cannot wait for my mothies too, it will be time soon to set up their little home and move them in.
Thank you so much for your interest, it makes me very happy and you are all wonderful.
Hugs
JO xx

Katydids might be hard work for you Jo, you'll be looking behind curtains and every thing and if you can't see them you'd be like me I think and might worry. Moths would be good though, at least if they escape and fly around they'll just munch your clothes. So instead of pee, pee poo from piggies, you'll get munch munch chew xxxx
