Ugh I get migraines, and they are not fun. I don't get the pain. I get the light, motion and sound sensitivity. Glad you are feeling a whole lot better

Hope everyone is well! Thought id drop in and say hello (it's been a while once again!) I've been getting migraines too! I think it's the heat we've had in the UK. I'm currently in week 5 of 9 of my last nursing placement for this year. Home time in 4 weeks!

Hope you've carried on enjoying it as much Ayemee? Bet you're looking forward to the break though - any plans, or just relaxing at home?

Yes I'm still loving it! Just extremely tiring and I'm really drained. All worth it in the end I suppose! I just miss home a lot. Hopefully just relaxing and working part time for the 4 weeks I get off. I'm saving for my first car so fingers crossed I'll be getting it by the end of September

So glad you're enjoying it. I'm sure you'll find it a really rewarding career. Ooh, first cars are so great. Mine was a hand me down piece of junk, but mine!

Oooh great first car! Mine was a burgundy Ford Fiesta - got written off after I'd had it for a few years when someone nicked it and drove it like a madman, pretty much wrecking it. Sad!

If you're ready for a break, things always drag! The kids break up from school today and I don't work school holidays so I have been looking forward to this day for a looooong time! Sorry, don't mean to rub it in...
Another annoying thing about it being stolen was that the police rang at 3am to tell me they'd found it as they'd pulled over the kid driving it. From the sounds of it they didn't actually give chase when he ran off, just watched him peg off (knowing they weren't fit enough to actually break into a run for longer than 20 seconds). We were asleep when they rang so didn't get to the phone in time, but when they rang back 5 minutes later, we did - only to be told that because we'd not answered the first time, they'd organised for it to be taken off to their car pound and we'd now have to pay £60 odd quid when we got our breakdown people to collect it. Even though their truck hadn't actually come and they could have stopped it and let us sort it (the cost would have been covered under our breakdown cover had we done it ourselves) they didn't. So we got woken up and charged extra money too - annoying!
Anyway that was 12+ years ago, I'm totally over it!

Haha it's fine! My younger sister makes sure she tells me how much she's enjoyed her day off from school and how much she's relaxing! Sisterly love eh! Ah that's awful but yeah I guess it was a while ago now. This hot weather we're having isn't good for me! It's so hot I can be bothered to stand and cook, because I end up wanting to pass out. The junk food diet has begun! I need to break that habit sooner rather than later ha!

No fun slaving over a hot stove when it's hot out - even eating a cooked meal can tip you over the edge sometimes! Saying that, I'm so ruled by my stomach (and have 3 other hungry people waiting to be fed) that I always end up cooking something half-decent - I try to do more stuff with salads when it's warmer though, or stuff I can get ready earlier in the day when it's cooler. Not so easy if you're out at work all day though.
Haha, siblings are great for that sort of thing!

My work is currently 29-30c indoors. We have no aircon. Plenty of complaints have been made to head office as drugs are not meant to be over 25c anyway! And a dispensary full of drugs is not a good place to be 30c! We are all dying in there. But apparently we don't have the funding available to put air con in just yet. May threaten to write off the 100,000s of pounds of drugs we have stores as they have been at too high temp and then see what they say? :-p

Oooh that sounds way too stuffy, especially if there's no air going through as it feels a lot hotter. Maybe you should ring the drug companies and tip them off their meds are boiling so they get on the company's case too?!
I had to nip into school the other day and was hit by a wall of heat when I went into the classroom - I'm sure they were just as bad when I was a kid (in the years we got summers!) but the thought of teaching in it appalled me!

There definitely seems to be a positive in living in a place as hot as Florida...most everyone and everywhere has a/c. I'm so sorry to hear that you are having to work without it. Ugh!

The problem with living with any temperature extremes is losing power. I do not want to face heat or cold without it. I've been in the south, in the summer, during power failures. Not fun. I remember those days from school, and we weren't learning anything. We were just staying alive. It's a waste of time having school. At home, at least the kids could wear bathing suits and run through the sprinkler to stay cool.
