I live to cut celery, carrots and peppers into sticks and dip them in ranch dressing. I have to be careful with the salt and MSG.

I used to send carrot sticks and ranch dressing in daughters school lunches, but they were so popular, the other kids ate them on her

Cookie72, How are Bedhead and Guinness doing? Getting along yet? Bedhead still eating? Hope all is well. Sorry I haven't checked in for a while...had a very tragic event happen to a family member (sister) and I've been pre-occupied. I haven't had time to retry the introductions, but both Bedhead and Guinness are thriving in their separate side by side cages. Guinness is fussy about what fresh veggies she will eat...a couple days ago I finally got her to eat some green pepper. Proud mama moment there...so she eats spinach, tomato and carrot, and now green pepper. Bedhead eats anything I offer her! I haven't tried celery...but I will tear off the leaves from the celery stalks and she always loves that!

I'm so sorry Cookie72. Lots of hugs <3 <3 <3 So glad the piggies are doing well. Being in separate cages where they can see, smell and communicate with each other is fine. No need to hurry the intros

Ι'm so very sorry to hear that your family is dealing with a tragic situation with your sister. I'm praying that all turns for the better. That's fantastic about Bedhead and Guinness doing so well. That's funny about Guinness being the fussy eater while Bedhead eats anything. Guinness is like my Weasley and Bedhead is like my Harry. I can't find anything that Harry won't eat if left in with him.

Thanks again everyone. I'm really glad I found this forum cause with all the bad stuff going on it's a nice distraction to hop on here and read interesting stories about everyone's piggies! I'm not sure if I'm supposed to talk about non guinea pig related stuff on here, but since I started the thread maybe it's ok? My sister fell down some steps and smashed her head on the concrete and sustained a massive head trauma, almost 5 weeks ago. She's been in the hospital ever since. She has been progressing some, with physical therapy...she has mobility in all her limbs, can stand up and walk a little with the physical therapists' assistance, and can speak. But she doesn't make alot of sense. A couple weeks ago when she first started speaking again, nothing she said made any sense. It's just heartbreaking to watch that. There has been progress on that, where now some of what she says makes sense (some days...some days not). There's no way of knowing yet if she'll ever fully recover or not, it's going to be a very slow road. And in the midst of all this my mom found out she has uterine cancer and has to have a complete hysterectomy next Wed. So starting the beginning of summer losing my beloved Potroast...followed by all this...it's been a horrible summer I'm trying to stay strong and I have ok days, and not so good days. I think today my emotions are getting the better of me. I'm very thankful I have my pets, my dog Sierra and my piggies to keep me company. I think Guinness is still adjusting to her new home and me. She's very skittish and will barely let me pet her, but she's starting to trust me a little I think. If I go in slowly with my hand, she will run around trying to hide but eventually give in and let me pet her nose. She seems perfectly healthy though and I'm glad she's starting to try new veggies.

Talk away! You need the outlet, and we're good listeners. You're on an emotional roller coaster. Stop in for a break any time. I'm so sorry about your sister and mom. Totally hoping the hysterectomy does the job, and she's cancer free ♡ Pulling for your sister to make a full recovery. I know it will sliw going, but don't get discouraged ♡♡♡
