Exactly! I feel instantly less clean, I feel uncomfortable, just all around not enjoyable.
A few summers ago I lived in a small apartment with a roomate. We did not control the air in our apartment and they charged you extra if you put in a personal air conditioner and we were both on a low budget. We didn't have the money to first off buy A/C units let alone the extra money per month. I was sitting on my bed one afternoon, blackout curtain on my window (was supposed to help repell some of the heat), fan on full blast sitting in my underwear and I was just pouring sweat. My roomie was in the living room in much the same condition! I got a second job just to afford the A/C after only a day of that. I was nearly drowingnin my own puddle of sweat! Yuck!! We bought units that did not hang out the window so we avoided the extra monthly charge.

Oh sweetie, what a horrible situation to be in, you really do have my sympathies. Recently i watched Jon Bon Jovi in concert and from the word go he was really sweating profusely. I thought, how can he carry on, I would be in a heap?

Jo, stage lights are incredibly hot, and if the weather is also hot, it's like performing in a steambath. Not my idea of fun. Bootygirl, we live in a 4 story condo with practically useless central air. We're only allowed to have an a/c unit in the attic, and only between certain dates. We have three of those units that only have an exhaust hose to the window, so we can control the temps as we want. They are a great option, especially since the attic window is in an alcove, so the cold air wouldn't get into the rest of the room, anyway. Gkad you git around the fee

Now I'm fine. I live in a house and we have central air. I also have the mobile unit that I bought for the apartment in our loft style bedroom because the air does not circulate well

We've found central air is great in single level houses with a zone in each room. We don't have that set up, either If you have or can make space in your freezer and fridge, keep some bottles of frozen water in the freezer and some clay floor tiles in the fridge, in the summer. If you are out of the house for several hours when it's really hot, put some in the cage. If you have a power failure, you still have cold spots for the pigs.

That is a great idea 3 piggles. I used to fill the bath with cold water but we only have a shower now so I just take a cold shower.

I never thought of in case of power failure but we do that already with marble tile or frozen water bottles for the rats so Booty will have hers in the summer. This time of year ita fleece piles for everyone

Welcome! You have me intrigued...what is your method for potty training? I tried training my boys but they mocked me and would pee right off the edges of where I wanted them to pee. I gave up.

Our house is permanently warm for the critters, we have to time the storage heaters so we can still feel warm and not pay much extra. They are horrible expensive things.

We keep the house about 70F in summer, and 65F in winter. I think I spend more on gas on the winter because I cook so much more than in summer.

For training the pee is the harder one to get. I first put papertowel and newspaper in her hideys (where she spent most of her time and peed there) the poop she was quick to pick up on, just kept scooping any loose ones and puttin em in her potty. Then with the pee towel/paper I put those in her litter box. She still has the odd pee on her fleece but is pretty good. I'll take pictures of her setup this week maybe. Easier with pictures

She was like this all day. Chatting and squealing. .the Degus will also talk more now. But she was out while we were proofing a new cage for 4 of our rat boys as one kept getting out. He found lots of treats and things to keep himself busy. Brought his brothers popcorn and paper towel and dog treats. Haha While we're noisily doing that she was sitting in her log house chirping at us and then she'd pop around. Was so much fun
