Hi!
I made my introduction earlier today and am posting a similar question here in case more members visit this area more often. I'm brand new to the piggie world and have been doing research for awhile now. I called a shelter that is located 1 1/2 hours away (the closest one actually) and talked to them about a female piggie they have up for adoption. I learned that she is 10 months old, 2 lbs, and has been there for almost 2 months. She is their only piggie there.
Originally I was looking for a bonded pair of females but now I face a decision. Should I drive that far tomorrow morning and visit with her? I know piggies are very social so I'm concerned that she won't have a friend if I bring her home. Or should I wait for a pair of bonded females to show up, either in the shelter (there is another shelter 2 hours away) or on Craigslist? I live on the coast so my resources are limited.
What would you do? Thanks!

I just posted in your other thread - we're not a massively busy forum so it's not so much much a matter of where you post but whether people happen to have been on. Good luck anyway, let us know what you decide!

I also posted in your other thread. I definitely suggest you meet her, get to know her, and if you love her, adopt her. Meeting her is the best way to learn how you feel about guinea pigs, and if you have the feeling of commitment and love you want to have to start adopting guinea pigs

I appreciate it but like I mentioned on my other post just a minute ago, I drove out to the shelter today, held and visited with her, but decided that guinea pigs are just not the right pet for me. So it's me, hubby, and our cuddly 15 year old cat

Oh bless, kitty sounds adorable. If that is the right decision for you at this time, we are all backing you love.
