I have some photos of objects/places which are just downright weird, so I thought I'd share them:

These are spectacular. I find symmetrical images like this very visually soothing, and they're pretty as well. You are a good photographer.

Cool! Hubby is taking a digital photography course, so he's practicing on all sorts of things. Maybe he should try some thing like this.

Here are a few more: By the way, what you are looking at was not taken with a microscope. I used my camera phone (the only camera I had available at the moment)

Is this from a cave? Or are they icicles? They're very beautiful. I've never seen anything like this firsthand.

Those are really cool! I'll have to have hubby take a look at these, as he's working on the different effects the camera will do.

Abstract can be a lot of fun; you just have to start looking at objects in a completely different way. Christine, those pics are giant ice crystals. I used to work for a place that bought commercial buildings and rebuilt them; Back in 2012, they bought a former butcher's warehouse about six stories tall and still full of ice. As they had to let everything melt before demolition could begin, they brought in a professional photographer and I was there to babysit, more or less. If they had given me notice, I would have brought my own camera to take pics, but I was happy to use whatever I could. Here's a few more (not all qualify as abstract)

Hubby hasn't gotten to taking abstract shots for his digital photography class, but I'm sure he will. Love the crystals. Nature creates some incredible things! The barrels are cool, Bean. I like the colors and textures. Hubby was playing with the camera settings, and got this picture. Not what he wanted, but I like it

We were playing with camera settings last night, or hubby was, and while he was doing that, I used my phone to take this picture of the placemat on the dining room table: We also worked on different approaches to the glass of water on the placemat:

Cool, and if all the candles were lighted, it would be quite spectacular

Wow, it's been a while since anyone posted on this thread. Hubby was playing with his cell phone camera last night, and got a some great pictures. I thought I'd revive the thread and post one.
