Hi everyone!
I'd like to ask about hay. I'm giving my gps unlimited hay in one area of their home, so there's always something for them to eat or somewhere to hide. These guys are munching away all day along as expected but they never finish what I give them. I guess there is also inedible hay in their cage. So my question is "how do I recognise what is still OK to eat and what what should be turfed out?". Or do you take the more radical approach and just turf out the old hay every day before you throw in the new stuff?
Thanks in advance.

If its urinated on id scoop it out but usually guinea pigs will pee/poop mostly where they eat so id renew it no less than every couple days but everyday definatly add more

Just turf out the old hay every day. Pigs use the hay area as a bathroom, but only the most recently wet hay will still be wet, so toss it all and start over again. As long as there is hay in the cage, the pigs will pick out the good from the bad, but once you change it for fresh hay, their reaction is sheer joy. They really don't want to have to root around in it
