Well I've gone and ordered a bag of oxbow young guinea pig food. Let's see if they like that...

Curious in what way?

What's included. You have popcorn and yellow things in the current food. Popcorn is definitely a chocking hazard, so I'm just curious what's in the new one you've ordered.

Ah! I misread what you posted, and didn't realize you were getting Oxbow. Very different stuff from the last batch. It's good food, and very little pellet breakage. They may not take to it right away, so put some of it in with some of the old food, and change it to more Oxbow each time, until the old food is gone.

Getting to the end of their first bag of Oxbow pellets. They like it. I love how I can hold the smallest smallest pellet but they can still grab it from my fingers without biting me. Precision teeth!

We have three that are so careful taking food from you - if they do accidentally misjudge it, as soon as they feel your finger, their jaw slackens without you being hurt. But we have one who is a bit greedy and over-excitable and you have to be more careful feeding him! He'd never bite, he's just a giddy plonker!

as soon as they feel your finger, their jaw slackens without you being hurt. I can vouch for that too. When I'm holding a small bunch of lettuce, their tiny mouths are going at full speed and sometimes they don't see that's there's none left. I've felt their teeth but they've never broken the skin. To have that level of sensitivity is fantastic.

Ha ha, I love hand feeding but you do have to be a bit careful sometimes.

I have to be careful hand feeding myself - I bit my finger eating a burger a few months ago!

LOL, Bean I've done that Now that Morty had cataracts, I have to be really careful hand feeding him, as he can't discern my finger from the treat, anymore. I give him larger pieces, so he doesn't have to come that close to my fingers. He's bitten me once, when I went to pet him, and he thought my finger was a treat.

Ha Ha me too. Paul is always asking me to watch my fingers when I eat - cheeky bugger LOL!!

I've been nipped a handful of times, but usually because they're so enthusiastic to get their food that they just chomp randomly, or it's too dark for them to see clearly. In any case, they've never broken any skin of mine, either. The one time Deo got me, he stopped abruptly and looked at me as if to say, "Sorry, I forgot I was a vegetarian!"
