I know what you mean about Jools Holland. He's a talented musician but he just seems ill at ease as a host or interviewer. His speaking style is very strange. His words don't flow together comfortably. I wonder if he has some kind of disability which affects his speech.
I don't know Renee Zelwegger.

I don't know Renee Zelwegger. Lucky you! Renee Zellweger (spelled her name wrong before) is an American actress. I don't know why I find her so irritating, but I do. She's most famous for playing Bridget Jones (who is such an annoying fictional character that it may just be association with that, paired with a squeaky voice). Eddie Redmayne (actor) usually annoys me too. I nearly threw something at the tv whilst watching Les Miserables. Think I've finished complaining for now?!

Ooh, he is annoying, isn't he! Hehe, I know what you mean about Renee Zelwegger, lol. Jools Holland isn't a bad musician, just not my style. I like the second song. It's sweet. Not really my style, either, but sweet

Robyn - "Dancing On My Own"
Stephie Coplan - "No One Wants to Hear a Love Song"

I think if Renee Zellweger sung, she'd sound like Robyn...!
I tend to prefer lower female vocals, which reminded me of this song (sorry, you cant keep me away from the 80s). I also find it impossible to watch Jimmy Somerville dance without smiling, so that's improved my morning already!

Interesting selection. I like them, and they're all very different I always thought, if she tried to sing, Renee Zellweger wouldn't be very good. There's just something about her that turns me off, sorry.

Like the Echo and the Bunnymen song. The video was short of few bunnies, though

Like the Echo and the Bunnymen song. The video was short of few bunnies, though I'm sure if I look hard enough I can find at least one video with bunny girls

I'm glad you didn't say you liked the Tom Jones version. That is truly awful. To my ears, every song he sings sounds the same. I really don't know how he's popular. And I don't get this throwing your underwear thing either. There's something about him that I find unnerving, maybe in a kind of Jools Holland way If they remake Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, he'd be the ideal child catcher

LOL, Tom Jones never did anything for me, either, though I know he was a huge hit with a lot of women. I liked the song, but agree with Jo. I like the Prince version better.

Japan - "Ghosts"

Linked to your pick of Japan - I had this song in my head last week after my friend went off on holiday to Japan (my brain's very simple like that!).
And another because I've just seen a link to it and loved this song so much - viva the 80s!
I'm not a fan of Tom Jones - I think a couple of his songs are fun (Delilah is great at karaoke!) but find him a bit cringy. It's worse with Prince though - he totally gives me the creeps and I can't bear to listen to him at all! As my husband has pointed out, he's written songs for other people that I do like - for example Nothing Compares 2 U (Sinead O'Connor) and Manic Monday (The Bangles), so it's probably my aversion to his sliminess that puts me off liking any of his music!

Being of the era when my friends went to Vietnam, I really liked Camouflage, but it made me cry.
