Do pigs yawn like adults? My pigs had floor time this evening and one of them looked like he was yawning; then he settled himself down to relax comfortably. There were no other pigs in sight, so I don't think it was a sign of aggression or a warning.

My pig yawns and it's super cute. Their mouths are so small, so it looks really funny :-)

Yes, they definitely yawn. They also open their mouths very wide to show their teeth, in a sign of aggression. You did the right thing considering the circumstances and not just the action. No reason to be aggressive, so it's just a yawn

My daughter finds yawning guinea pigs to be intimidating; apparently seeing their mouths so wide open is unsettling for her.

It certainly gives you an idea of the damage their long teeth could inflict, even if they're just being cute and having a stretch before settling down! I love the way they usually stretch their front paws forwards as they yawn - very sweet! I was going to say it's a hard thing to get a photo of, but have just had a quick google and lots of people seem to have managed it!

Thank you for such adorable and brilliant photos love. I think they are really cute even though we do see those teefies. It is getting them to put their paw over their mouth when they yawn which is so hard LOL!!

You can also see why people give such pictures captions about them singing
