That's a great cage! Well designed with the storage underneath too. Did you make it yourself? Those little tents are brilliant! Yes i did! I made the tents because it drives me NUTS when they move there houses around

Because they're in your bedroom and the noise bothers you, or are you just a control freak?! BOTH! Haha I'm a very light sleeper, so they hit there houses against the cage lol, and it wakes me up.

You could put a towel or something over the small section of the cage, and even pile another towel on the floor of that section. That will give the pigs a secure sleeping place with plush towel to lie on or tunnel under, and it will be very quiet. Give them the houses they can move around, during the day, so they get the best of both worlds You can put a pad behind the water bottle, so if they drink while you're trying to sleep, it won't make as much noise. Creating the little, towel covered/padded sleeping nook in the short section, plus padding the water bottle, should make the cage a lot more quiet at night. You could also try covering the whole cage, so what you do does't effect the guinea pigs. If you move, get up or do something, to them, it's time expect a treat. If you cover the cage at night, so there's a certain time during their day/night when they are blocked from what you're doing, they may spend more time sleeping, or at least spend less time expecting anything from you. That could also make them a lot more quiet at night.

That is a great cage love. Ours are the same, every time they hear a rustle or similar, they start wheeking in excited anticipation lol!

We had our pigs upstairs last week while we were redecorating - I'm a light sleeper and it took me a while to get used to all their noises! I got used to the running around type of of bangs, but had to give them a good chunk of cucumber before I went to bed to make sure they didn't clack their water bottles too much as that always woke me up with a start (although not my daughter, who was sleeping far closer to the cages than I was!). Of course they liked this new arrangement of getting extra treats just before bed and have had to come back down to earth with a disappointed bump now they're downstairs again!

It is hard to sleep in the same room with any caged animals, since they are active when we are sleeping. We can reduce the amount of noise they can make, but we'll never stop is. If the noise is really bothersome, try some soft, noise-reducing ear plugs. I have some wax ones to block water from getting in my ears, but they work well for muffling the sounds, too. There are others that are like small cyclinders of soft foam, that are used in shooting galleries(with real guns), so they work quite well at muffling the noises. It's probably better to use ear plugs and let them have plenty of soft places to play and snuggle. That way you get your sleep, and they get to play

At one point I had about 7 hutches in my bedroom and I used to love the sounds the piggies made but I agree, it can be quite loud lol!

My piggies stay in my daughter's room, and she's used to the sounds of Oscar flipping his pigloo over and the clicking of his water bottle. Theodore tends to stay quite silent, as far as we can tell.
