My Guinea pig approx 3 years old starting having problems chewing. Took to exotic vet. The vet trimmed back teeth and front. Started eating eating a little better. Went back to vet last week said he had a few sharp teeth she trimmed them back. During the trim she Took a lot of time to examine his mouth. He still can't or won't eat hay. And is slow at eating his vegetables. This had been going on for About 6 weeks now. I'm supplementing critical care is stools are soft not normal. Need some advice. Thanks

I'm really sorry your pig is having problems eating, I know how worrying it is. If they've developed ulcers in their mouth from overgrown teeth, that can stop them eating for a while after the teeth have been fixed because it's just too sore. But after 6 weeks you'd be expecting them to be eating again, so that is a concern, and the mushy poops show things aren't quite right. Is your vet experienced with guinea pig dentistry? It sounds like she's very thorough, but it can be a difficult thing to get right (trimming the right bits and making sure they're left with a good bite). When one of my pigs had dental problems, I had to travel a way to a specialist vet as the one who I saw locally (who was good with most problems) just didn't have the experience to really sort it out. Just something to consider. How is his weight? If it's stable that's a good sign, but if he's losing weight, try to increase the supplemented feeds. We don't have a medical forum here - I'd strongly suggest you post over on the medical forum at Guinea Lynx as they have lots of experienced and knowledgeable members over there who I'm sure will be able to help advise you. Here's an information page on malocclusion which may be of some help too. Good luck, I really hope you get to the bottom of what's wrong and please keep us posted.

Hello and welcome I'm sorry about the piggies teeth problems. I second everything Bean said. Check his weight. If he is consistently losing, he needs more help than just Critical Care. I hope the section on Malocclusion gives you some ideas, and the vet can figure out what's causing him continued problems.
