I just wanted to say how wonderful I think you all are, you are true friends and I am so glad that we have "met." Maybe one day we will be able to get together for real. That would be awesome. Lots of love Jo xx

Maybe some day, Jo. My brother visited the UK many years ago; he said it was wonderful. I wouldn't mind seeing it myself. Not enough vacation days/money in my life... And yes, this board is far more pleasant than most places on the 'net I've visited. I'm just surprised we don't get more people that stick around.

Right back at you, Jo! I think New Zealand would be a good meeting point?!
It definitely is a lot quieter than it used to be, but I'm just glad all the troublemakers and numpties seem to move on! Modding bigger forums always becomes something resembling hard work, but no one here needs their laces tying!

Thanks Baz love for your kind words and I know just what you mean. Money is always the obstacle when it comes to things like this, meeting friends a long way away. At least one of us has to have very deep pockets but as you say, maybe one day. There are some wonderful parts here in the UK, Cornwall being one of them and I consider myself lucky to live here. Whilst there is a cozy number on this forum love, I often wonder what has happened to friends who have posted in the past.
What a good idea Bean, I have heard that New Zealand is beautiful too. There is no room for trouble makers on forums and I have left a couple because of sheer nastiness. It is lovely on here though.

The way I see it, it'd be difficult enough to get everyone together from all over the world anyway, so we might as well imagine there's a few hundred thousand pounds in a pot, so we can do what we like! We can get all the past members along that way too!
There's a reasonable chance I'll be down near Cornwall one day though, and it'd be lovely to say hello when we are!

It is a nice thought Bean love but I realise it is near to impossible, I just get these silly notions sometimes even though I know it isn't going to happen. If ever you are down here sweetie, it would be wonderful to meet you. Just say when lol!

Oh there's nothing wrong with a bit of wishful thinking, and you never know! It'd be boring if we could only imagine things that could easily happen.
When I was a kid we once had a family in Polzeath - that's a 6 hour drive from us in a good car, and we had one of those old bangers that required AA assistance more often than not on long journeys! It was a lovely place to visit though.

I often fantasise about these lovely situations becoming real Bean hunni and as you say, if we didn't have our dreams. I remember going on holiday from London to Devon/Cornwall when I was very little and it was all B roads, before the motorways. I remember we used to break the journey staying at a B&B half way down. To me that just added to the excitement. We would often stay at the same place on the way back but that felt weird because I always used to think the last time we stayed here we had our holiday ahead of us, now it is ended.
Polzeath is lovely, it is on our list of "To visit." list. There are so many lovely places down here and if you were to visit again, I would be only to pleased to help.

I really wish I could still travel, but the chances of me getting more than a days car trip from home aren't good. So many places I would love to see. So many places to put with names I've heard, and so much history to explore. New Zealand is one of my favorites. I would like to see how my ancestors lived in England back in the 16th and 17th centuries. I have no idea where my Irish or French ancestors lived, so can't chack on those.

The same here Piggles hunni, my travelling days are over. I would love to go somewhere where they have giant land crabs though, they are so cute. When Paul was in Belize they used to train them to carry coke cans bless them. I have heard that New Zealand is a really lovely place, I would also like to visit Borneo for reasons mentioned before and the West indies.

Funny that New Zealand should get mentioned; a vendor I deal with just came back from a vacation there; he said he loved it! He spent a few days in Tahiti and then took a plane to NZ, and wished that he could have skipped Tahiti. It actually sounds wonderful; I might like to visit there someday too.
