Hi, I have two 3 year olds that eat Timothy Hay, and two babies who we just got Alfalfa hay for. So I was just wondering do we need the Alfalfa Hay for the babies? or should we just feed them Timothy Hay?

I believe Alfalfa hay is best for young pigs, and Timothy hay is best suited for adults. (We have a few experts here, but I'm not one of them. Wait until you get a second opinion to make absolutely sure.)

What pellets are they eating? If the pellets are alfalfa based, I wouldn't worry about which hay they have. I've always just given meadow or timothy hay, whatever the age. But if you have some alfalfa hay in then great, I'm sure the little ones will enjoy it!
A timothy-based pellet is ideal for adult pigs, but I know with my crew that pellets are a very small part of their diet (they get different hays and plenty of fresh veg) so I worry less about them suffering with problems because of having too much calcium (it can make it much more likely they have problems with things like bladder/ kidney stones if their diet contains too much calcium, whether from pellets or calcium-rich veg like spinack, broccoli or dandelions).
