That is true and it is scary Piggles love. The people we love in films and TV are also dying and have been gradually doing so for a long time.

I remember when I was young, and people who were older than my parents were dying, people like Jimmy Durante, who were, of course, eons older than I was. Those people meant something to my parents, but were just people I'd seen on television. Now we're the ones having the people who mean something to us dying. I can't imagine losing people like Tom Select, or even Tom Petty. I'm not a big Tom Petty fan, but I like his music, and have for decades, so I would definitely feel the loss. I just made a mental list of people I would miss if they were gone, and it's longer than I expected.

I have loads on my list Piggles love including Frank Sinatra. The Two Ronnies are both gone now and so are wonderful people like Patrick Swayze. The list is too long to type sweetie but I think we know what we both mean.

Yes it is, Jo, and no matter how many people we include, we'll always remember someone else who should be included. Sunny day here. I had to chuckle as it's been sunny all morning, yet the weather reports all said we had thick fog We're in a valley, so if anyone had it, we should have! It was weird Monday having hubby home and everyone else working or in school. Kept forgetting it was a Monday, just as having him home of Friday made it seem like a Saturday. Nice to have a 4-day weekend now and then He loves the heat, so spent time pulling the dead plants out of the veggie garden. I now have veggies all over the kitchen island Harvest time

It is really miserable here today hunni, no sun, very grey with the promise of rain. It must be so satisfying making things from veggies that you have grown. I would make lots of soups.

I hope your weather changes, Jo. Even winter sunlight is better than no sunlight, and that grey, gloom that seems to settle on everything. That's why I installed daylight bulbs in all my lamps. Come winter, it can be grey and gloomy for days, and I need the UV rays, so the daylight bulbs are a good option. They're not the same as real sunlight, though. I will still slow down a bit more every day, with the daylight bulbs. As soon as the sunlight returns, I'm back to normal. Our heat wave is supposed to break today. A friend in Chicago said it broke there, and we get their weather about a day later, so the cold front should arrive tonight. I can't wait. I've been doing one circuit on my bike in the morning, instead of the two I normally do, because I have so much trouble with the humidity. It was cool enough, but so humid, it was like biking through deep water. It's almost October, bring on some Fall weather We could go from record heat, to record cold, so we're making sure we have plenty of space to bring in all the plants that will be happy outdoors during the day, but cold freeze overnight. My Fall jungle We do this every year. I can't bring myself to trash any plant with any life left in it, so my annuals tend to live very long lives. We're also getting some grow lights this year, so we can combat the winter lack of light, and continue to grow greens and herbs indoors over the winter.

Things got a bit weird with Tom Petty's death. Apparently he was found virtually dead in his home, rushed to a hospital, put on life support, no brain activity found, taken off life support, then the LAPD reported him dead, which was reported by CBS TV network and TMZ. LAPD then rescinded their report, and eventually claimed they never said that, but by then, Tom Petty was really dead. So the news flow was really weird?
I'm sad to see him go. I liked his music, would listen to it and sing along, but he's not someone I would have paid to see in concert. He did a good job performing at the Superbowl halftime show, but it lacked some pizzazz, especially compared to performers like Furgie and Beyonce'. His music was singable, and low key. Didn't need a big performance with fireworks and dance moves.
It really is a coincidence, but definitely a WOW coincidence!

I have a few of Petty's CDs, I liked his work. A friend of mine saw him in concert and was disappointed, only because he said he was the only one there who wasn't stoned out of his gourd. I was going to say regarding the weirdness: 3piggles, if that's some kind of voodoo power you have to mention a celebrity's name and they die shortly, can you try that on Trump?

Ooh, don't I wish!!! I would have him out of office in no time! He did do great stoner music. Sort of what Bob Dylan was back in my day, though I liked Petty's music better. I did like the fact that his shows and videos had no dirty dancing, no special effects, none of the stuff that seems to make videos now. Then again, I remember thinking the Temptation Walk was so cool, and we'd all do it to the music, lol I may not be the best judge
