Hope you don't have too many side effects and enjoy the party. We haven't got down to young people yet with the vaccination program, it's all being done in age order (after the clinically vulnerable people were sorted). I think we're on mid 30s at the moment, for first doses.

I ache all over, especially my arm... but I took some ibuprofen and I'll deal with it. All I have to do is sit and socialize with people I already know; I think I can pull that off for a few hours.

Pfizer seems to be THE shot to get, for everyone. Glad she got her first, and hope she gets her second Let me know if she has any side effects, as we got the Pfizer shot, and had none.

Baz, your body is like a machine with your new job - this vaccine might scupper things for us mere mortals, but it can't throw you off course!

Ouch Did you say you got the Moderna shot? Just what you don't need, when you already have a job that physically beats you to a pulp I hope Vicki didn't have any side effects from her first shot.

No, I got the Pfizer- regrettably, I went into work today and paid for it dearly. The effects of fatigue made it far worse than it should have been. Vicki has suffered no effects that we can see. She gets her second shot in three weeks!

Among my friends it seems to be the first AZ and the second Pfizer jabs that tend to cause symptoms. I was certainly grateful to have a quiet weekend to bounce back, it must have taken a lot of effort to get you through a hard day's labour, Baz - I really hope you feel better today.

All things considered, if I were you, I'd have taken the time off. It's not as if UPS cares enough to lighten your workload for a day or two, and you've given UPS more than their share of your physical effort. It's not as if they would have let you go home early, with the non-drivers, either. If you need to heal from the shot, take a day off to recover. They can learn what it's like to not have you there. Could be eye-opening just how much work you do! I hope the side effects clear up quickly!

Thanks for the support. Today was much better; I was a little beat up, but this was the normal "half recovered from Monday" feeling. It didn't hurt to move packages and the day even wound down at 3:30, so today was a plus. I bet tomorrow will be terrible- (things must balance out, you know!)

Glad it wasn't the start of a downhill slope! Sometimes getting off to a bad start can stop you getting back to your usual flow. Fingers crossed for another decent finishing time today!

It was grueling today, unfortunately. I think they are starting something new, and randomly letting a few people go home early. I believe Steve and Serena got to go home today, but having two hard workers not there meant I had to work even harder to make up for it! We're still short people, although we have a new hire- but he's still in training, so doesn't have to stay late or move bulk. I also got a notice in the mail that I will have jury duty in June on a Monday. Not sure how I feel about that. I mean, I will do my duty as a citizen, but would I rather be there, or loading trucks at work? Which one is the lesser of two evils?

Maybe you'll get an interesting case (I've just read a good courtroom drama, my optimism is probably unrealistic!) and it'll be a good rest!
Sorry today was harsh, and especially so if the hard workers got let home early. Maybe you'll get your chance to nip off early today?

Once again, management misread the situation Hugs I had jury duty once. I only got called for one trial, and since my daughters pediatrician was one of the people testifying, it would have been a conflict of interest. Otherwise I sat there waiting for my number to be called. Still, it might be a nice change for your body, and a chance for it to rest.

I have to call the day before to see if I'm needed to show up, and if I don't need to appear, I'm considering taking the day off anyway. I didn't get today off early, and it doesn't seem likely that I will be a candidate for leaving early anyway, ever, so might as well grab any chance I get.
I did do a case way back around 2007, I think it was. A guy who was obviously drunk tried to drive into the cops who pulled him over. The funny thing was, I was prepared to burn this guy down, but his lawyer really did present the case well enough to where we elected to get him off the most serious charge (attempted murder) and only found him guilty of a minor charge. The opposition managed to fumble their way through it all, and in the end the jury wasn't convinced, unfortunately for them.
I guess a good lawyer really makes a difference.
There have been two or three other times I've been called, but for those times I was not needed and dismissed at the end of the day.

I had a great uncle who was a criminal lawyer, and he said it's all in who plays the best game. Sadly, most lawyers seem to consider it to be a game, and they all want to win. Some just don't play as well as others. My uncle played very well. I hope you don't have to go to jury duty, so you can get a day to rest, and I hope, if you don't have to go to jury duty, you actually will take that day off to rest. UPS isn't doing you any favors. You don't have to break your back to help them. I also think a day without you might be a real eye opener for the supervisors. They might even find a way to get other people to actually do their work!

Did anyone else watch Eurovision this weekend? Probably not!
It was good fun, some great entries this year as well as a load of duff ones. That includes ours, which was the only entry to get the dreaded nil points (there were a few songs that received nil points from the audiences around the world, but we were the only country not to get thrown a scrap by the judges around the continent). The chap who entered for us did seem like a lovely guy though, and he took it on the chin with a smile and hopefully the rest of he country has done the same!
Italy won - they had a great song and put on a brilliant performance with loads of energy. They were in my top few favourites so I was happy with the result.

We don't get it aired over here, and I can't get the video you posted, either. Ah, I googled how to watch it in the US, and we have to buy Peacock Streaming to watch it. Many of our major networks are trying to move people off the main viewer providers, and on to their own streaming platforms. Peacock is NBC's streaming platform. Trouble is, most people already get NBC channels through Hulu, Xfinity, Sling, etc., so don't want to pay for it twice, or have to give up the rest of the selections they get from their streaming provider. Long way to go with that.
Poor guy, not getting a single vote, even from his own country. I hope that, if nothing else, makes him famous enough to get picked up by a manager or whomever is needed to get a career going.

You can't vote for your own country, so we couldn't have thrown him a bone! He already makes his living from being a songwriter (although I don't think he usually performs), so I think he'll be fine.
Other countries have an X-Factor like competition to choose their songs, with rounds of public voting. It's not something I'd watch, a couple of hours a year of Eurovision is enough for me, but I think if we did that we'd more likely end up with something with mass appeal.

I never watched X Factor, either, but I guess millions of people do, and totally get into having a say in who wins. Same with Dancing With The Stars, where the audience gets to vote. Just not my thing, really.
I'm glad he already has a job in music, and had a chance to get the exposure of being on Eurovision. Sometimes the competitors who don't win go further in the business than those who do win.
