Beckee, try announcing your intentions to Betty so she can tell where you are by your voice, and learns what certain words mean. Maybe something like Pretty Betty when you're approaching her to pet her or pick her up, so she knows you're talking to her and you're going to pet her.
Momma has bad eyesite, although it has stopped getting worse. I have something verbal for just about everything I do, so it never comes as a surprise to her.
I wish I had a good pic of the Zippy bum. Talk about a wide load, lol, he makes Hanny look like a skinny minny. It's just he way he's built.

Well yet again the Sows have slipped to page 3 without my attention! Lucky I have some new snaps to win hearts with?! All 4 girls are doing well. Betty definitely has very limited eyesight now and does fine in her cage but gets a bit worried when she goes in too big a space or a new area. I have found now that if I build a playpen I have to let her in first with Wilma to figure out what's where and she likes to have a safe quiet corner to sit awhile until she's ready to explore. She's happy generally though and I always make sure I sing a little 'Wooaaah Black Betty' when I'm coming in to pick her up so she knows what's coming! All 4 could do with a bath but even though they live indoors, it's still a bit too chilly to be getting them wet so they will have to hold off a bit longer! I did give them all a nail clip and weigh in today though. A few extra grams all over as they've insulated themselves for winter! Here we go! Pebbles.. now 995g Hantaro..1060g Betty...1094g and Wilma...1056g And a group shot to finish! Awwwwww!!

Awwww is right - I love all these group shots. I'll never be able to do that - couldn't let the boys near the girls for obvious reasons and to afraid the boys would start fighting.
I've been very remiss with the newpigs thread as well but have been waiting on their new tunnels arriving to take some snaps.
I love seeing the Spanglish Sows and very pleased to see them all looking healthy and gorgeous. Poor Betty but glad to hear she is coping well.

Lucky I have some new snaps to win hearts with?! Awwww, you got my heart beckee! I love the new pigtures! I did not know that Betty has trouble with her eyesight. Is it just because she is getting old? I especially love the group shot too. How did you get the girls to sit in a half circle like that? It really is adorable! My 5 G-Girls need to practice that! *runs off to make the G-girls practice*

I told Zippy that his Betty love is losing her sight. He said if she ever needs a service pig, he's more than willing to stick right with her so she always knows where she is. He thinks they'd be cute as a pair of black him and her piggies.
Your girls are look fab, as usual. It's a bit too cold for baths here, too. I think about it once in a while, then look at the temp and decide to wait. It's only a couple more months before it starts to warm up enough to give them baths.

Thanks all! I'm glad they haven't lost their fans despite me not updating very often!! In the second picture pebbles really looks like charlotte wouldn't you agree? She does a bit, doesn't she! I think it's the cheeky piggy lip! lol I love the new pigtures! I did not know that Betty has trouble with her eyesight. Is it just because she is getting old? No Val! She's not very old really, in fact, the three sisters turn 2 round about now and I think Hantaro is 5. I've lost count so will have to check that out! Betty had an ulcer in her eye this time last year and although we dealt with it swiftly and she seemed to have no trouble, maybe this has had something to do with her sight. One eye does seem a little cloudier than the other but I can't be sure! Would love to hear you singing 'Wooaaah Black Betty' to her lol Oh but Jackie, we all know you have the voice of an angel so I would be far to embarrassed to sing in front of you! lol I told Zippy that his Betty love is losing her sight. He said if she ever needs a service pig, he's more than willing to stick right with her so she always knows where she is. He thinks they'd be cute as a pair of black him and her piggies. How very kind! What a gentleman Zippy!! You'll make Betty blush!

Ooh, the thought of Betty blushing made Zippy preen like a peacock. The girls brought him back to earth very quickly, though, so it's still possible to live with him.

Beckee, I did not know that the three sisters were so young. They must have only been about 6 months old when I joined Wheekers then? They are only 6 months older than Miss GeeGee and Miss PP Lily then I think?

Yes that's right! I joined (2 years ago today!) when my last boar Fred died which left me with Hantaro all on her own (Fred was neutered so he could live with her after his brother had to be PTS the month before but the neutering op revealed all sorts of health complications and he didn't live long enough to meet Hanny properly) the 3 sisters came from the vet as his father had a pet shop and the pig he had for sale had 3 babies. Since the vet wasn't happy about live animals being for sale in his fathers shop, he told him that we'd paid him and we took the babies for free! We originally just chose two but when we were back visiting a week or so later he said the 3rd baby was still left and would we have her to so I only got the girls just after I joined Wheekers!
And I just saved them slipping to page2 again I believe! *phew*

Well yet again the Sows have slipped to page 3 without my attention! And again! I love the latest snaps though - what a fine bunch of pigs, and I'm glad to hear they're all doing well! A friend of mine texted the other day to say she'd just got some guinea pigs and when could I come to see them. Later on I said something to fella like 'Oh I can't believe she's got guinea pigs!' and Alex asked 'Why not?' so I replied 'Because it'll make me want them!' and he let out an enormous gasp and his jaw dropped to the floor before asking in horror 'Does that mean you're going to *steal* them from her?!' lol. Anyway, stand back, there's nothing to see - don't all start on about me getting pig broody again lol.

Kids' interpretations of adult conversations can be very interesting, as long as he doesn't decide to report you to the autorities for scheming to snatch the pigs, lol.
